  • Which is your go-to breastfeeding position??? 🤱
    ❤️Cradle❤️
Great for: everyone! The classic hold that’s good for new babies and older babies alike and mamas who are nursing in public.
    To get into this position:
Cradle your baby in your arm on the same side as the breast you’re feeding from (left arm for left breast; right arm for right breast). Your baby should be laying on their side, with their head resting on your arm as a pillow.
    ❤️Cross-cradle❤️
Great for preemie babies, newborns, and those struggling to latch. Not so great once baby is older than three months.
    To get into this position:
Gently lay your baby on a nursing pillow on your lap. If you are nursing on the left side, cradle baby’s head in your right hand, by placing your thumb by one ear and your forefinger by the other ear. Your baby’s neck should be supported by the space between the forefinger and the thumb. Allow your palm to support baby’s upper back. Use your left hand to support your left breast.
    ❤️Football❤️
This is great for babies who have a hard time latching, who have tongue/lip ties, and for twins. This is also great for nursing after a C-section.
    To get into this position:
You baby should be lying on their back next to you, with their legs at your side (under your arm). Use pillows to get your baby to breast level. Use the arm on the side your baby is on to support their head, like in the cross cradle hold. Hold your breast with the other hand, and then bring baby’s face up to meet the breast.
    ❤️Biological nursing❤️
Great for: newborns, mamas who need to rest and nurse at the same time, mamas who need help with engorgement, and for mamas who overproduce because this position works against gravity.
This is the position mom and baby get into instinctively after birth. To get into this position:
Lay back comfortably with your baby on top of your chest, skin-to-skin,
Your baby begins to search for your nipple.

Side-laying. Once I discovered it with my 1st baby (16 years ago), every other position was just out of necessity. Once mastered, it's so incredibly natural for mother and baby.
