No but I can see how that would make more sense! Newington opened in Fall '91 with a Road Stage. Many Road Stages converted to 1-stages in the mid 90's, but received 2-stage backgrounds. Why, we have absolutely no idea (yet). Perhaps there were more leftover after the company largely stopped opening new stores by 1994? Maybe there were some leftover when 2-stages stopped being produced in favor of 1-stages? It's definitely been something that I've tried to figure out for a long time. As a kid I always asked, "Why are the characters on one stage, but it looks just like Waterbury?" :)
