I was super happy! Like I put at the end- I’ve known this family for years and my first gig was for them when the daughter was 3. Now she’s 7 so it’s super cool to know her as she grows up!

My friend's daughter just had a birthday and she was given a $20 as one of her gifts. She didn't want to lose it, and she loves my tiny rescue dog, so I helped her put it in his coat pocket while we were out.
I told her it's a magic coat. She asked what it does. I said idk, it's his magic, and pointed at my dog. Went home and put another $20 bill in the pocket. She came and was so excited about asking my dog to go in his pocket. She pulled them out. 100% believes my dog and I did magic and doubled it.
It's the cutest thing ever. Her dad plays along. Her grandmother visited and she was excitedly telling her what happened. Grandma came in clutch and played along too. She tells everyone about her special dog friend with the magic coat her auntie has and it makes me so unreasonably happy lmao.
What if u have a voice crack when ur singing.? Or if that already happened?❤
When that kind of thing happens, you just keep singing and move on. The kids probably won't remember one voice crack by the end of the song. Good vocal warmups beforehand would help prevent this, though

I remember that when I was younger it was my birthday and my mom told me that the superheros will come so I was really exited but when the “superheroes” arrived I opened the door and realized they were my older cousins, I literally cried for almost half an hour 😞

Okay so, this isn't meant to be rude, I'm just genuinely curious. Do children like, actually believe that you are the real character? Because I remember being young and I definitely believed in like, Santa, and fairies and magic in general, and things like that, but I also had the understanding that the princesses and stuff in movies were fictional characters. Like, in my head, fairies were definitely real, but Tinkerbell was not a real fairy, she was just a story. For whatever reason. Or that Santa was real but the man I talked to at the mall was just an actor. Or that even of Cinderella existed, the real one doesn't any more because the story is set in the past.
And I always thought that was mos people's experience too. I would still get really excited about meeting "princesses" and and other characters at parties and things but I also did just think of them as actors and it was a fun game. I had no idea that some children grow up believing that Disney princesses are like, real? I mean, I'm not judging them, I don't think I have the right to given my beliefs, just find it interesting.

This is why you put the fake ears on/infront of the actual ears.
I remember in kindergarten we gave this guy so much slack for pretending to be two different people, a normal guy and then he'd come back as a jester, that we all had a riot and refused to let him perform one day. We had been hating him over it for so long. Stories were nice, costume nice, just don't lie to us stupid grown up, we know better. He left and had a very long talk with the teacher, and apparently against her wishes he finally confessed his identity fraud and we all cheered. And then he kept coming by at his regular schedule and we never gave him flack again.
Sometimes, you just have to let the magic go. The kids would rather have an honest roleplay instead of a lying princess. Kids play pretend all the time. They play dress up. Sometimes it's fine. (But sometimes it isn't!)
