Here's my opinion (get ready for a long read) I think it hardly has anything to do with craws and there are a few reasons for that. 1) Crankbaits don't have claws. One of, if not the most important factor when imitating craws is their big claws. Just because it has a craw pattern painted on the side doesn't mean the bass think it's a craw. 2) It's a reaction strike either way. Any time there's a crankbait or a chatterbait running by the face of a bass, they're not getting a good look at it, so there isn't much time to figure out exactly what it is they're eating, it's just a reaction strike. 3) Red works just as well in areas that don't have craws. There are a couple ponds I manage and I know for a fact there are no craws in them. I've found that red works just as well as bigger lakes in these small ponds that don't have craws, but it seems like it works better the dirtier the water gets. 4) Red is what everyone throws, so that's what most people are gonna catch fish on. It's just a simple cause and effect. If 90% of anglers are throwing red/orange a certain time of year, then there aren't really gonna be many other people throwing different colors to see if they produce better than red/orange. Personally I don't think it has anything to do with red or orange specifically, just the fact that it's a bright color. Usually, I try to do the opposite of what most people do. Everyone throws red/orange in the spring so I throw chartreuse. Most people put away the red cranks after the spawn, but red is one of my favorite dirty water colors in summer and fall when the bass aren't used to seeing a ton of red crankbaits. I have no credibility or anything, I'm just a guy that likes to fish but I think most or all of my arguments make a little bit of sense. At the end of the day, who knows? We'll never know the true answer. If you read this whole thing, I'm surprised but those are just my thoughts
A very good analysis dude! And we definitely see the credibility in this argument! Honestly, might even lean towards it. Like you said, who knows! Thanks for watching and taking the time to post this comment. It’s much appreciated. P.s. We always take the time to read the whole thing.
Thanks for sharing another great video
