I do like this idea of pay as you go. I struggle with commitment. This is perfect for me and my family. We currently have Netflix and Hulu but it seems if I get Prime I can possible cut the other two out and have one bill. Thank you for sharing Matt!
It's nice to know about the new options. I have both Netflix and Prime right now. had Netflix for uears...and added Prime for the free shipping. Found out about all the extras with Prime and decided to compare the 2 services (already compared Netflix and Hulu and dropped Hulu due to their inability to fix technical issues after a year of dealing directly with their "support team." It'll be interesting to see how this all plays out.
Matt, I learn something almost every time I watch your videos. Not only are the products great, but some of the sites are helpful too. Reminds me of the proverb about providing a fish or teaching someone to fish. Keep up the good work, much appreciated.
Thanks for the update on Amazon Prime. I am glad I caught it at the deal you showed for 79/year. I don't know if I will renewing for the full membership or not but I sure enjoy the free 2-day shipping. (sorry I've been MIA on your videos, life happens! LOL)
Amazon video is good but Netflix does beat it video streaming wise. Though the complete Amazon Prime membership of $99/year was well worth it. It has paid for its self time and time again and I still have 2 months left in my first year. The two day shipping and price discounts are my favorite features of being a Prime member.
I have prime. I do wish they had better movies to choose from. 🙁 I do however love the 2 day shipping and photo back up! got it last year when you share the fire stick at a really great price. one day maybe I will upgrade my fure stick.
We have Netflix, Hulu and Prime. I love them all. Netflix has the best selection, but I use the heck out of my Prime free shipping. Hulu has all the greatest shows just one day after they air on tv. As for streaming only, I would have agree with you Matt and say Netflix is the best!
I share netflix with a neighbor, but Amazon Prime has many shows not available on Netflix. So, would it be wiser to enroll in Amazon Prime tv only? Or what would you do?
amazon promised on the fire stick advert free streaming free movies unlimted and free downloading and now u cant watch anything free on it anymore its asking u to buy the dvds or blurays
I have both Netflix and Amazon Prime and I enjoy certain features on each of it and still for $20 a month roughly I get much better service than a cable bill plus I completely enjoy Pluto TV. that was the deal so far
Matt I have both but, find that I watch Netflix more than the Amazon but, it is good to have the choice for some shows that Netflix doesn't carry so for me it's still worth it to have both.
how many devices can u add on amazon prime im thinking of getting some amazon fire tablets for my kids and maybe myself i just saw a video on it and it looks great for 50 bucks cant beat it
Great question. As long as the device is registered to you or your household when you purchase, or that person uses your Prime Log in to set-up the tablet, there is no cap on the devices you can use with Prime Video / Music, etc.
Amazon Prime Video has a slight problem for non US Viewers, you click on a movie and are told that its included with your subscription. then you get another message saying its not licensed to show in your country. So obvious question is 'what am I paying for'. Netflix originals are currently light years ahead in quality of any other producer.
Matt, I have been having some crazy, stressful times lately so I apologise for not commenting as much as I normally do. I just saw on Twitter that it was your Birthday yesterday!!!!!!! Happy Birthday Matt!! I sure hope you had a terrific one!! You sure deserve it because you bring so much happiness and joy to so many of us, your loyal followers! 🎂🎉🎁🎈
I have both Amazon Prime AND Netflix, but that's because I need the best of both worlds. I shop Amazon almost weekly so the free 2-day shipping can't be beat. I do agree, however, that the selection of programming/movies is much better on Netflix. The kids programming especially seems much better on Netflix. It would be nice to cut the cord with one of the services, but until Prime gets better, I gotta have both.
After a year on Amazon Prime I still haven't watched their videos. Next month I'll have to subscribe to Netflix again so I can binge watch Orange Is The New Black for a month.
Thanks for the reminder that Netflix is going up. The price hike for some of us is even greater than a dollar for Netflix. As I used to pay $7.99, now it's going to be $10.99.Though due to the Samsung deal with the Galaxy S7, I won't be dealing with this issue for a year. Right now I have what I've nicknamed the holy trinity of cable cutting, which is Netflix, Amazon Prime and Hulu.
Is Amazon video streaming worth it. I have Netflix but they usually add shows, original content (which I love) but their new movie release (that were in theaters) suck. I just recently got Hulu which is okay, but their library isn't very big. Thinking about canceling one for Amazon will it be worth it???
I have both Netflix and Amazon Prime and I have to say, I use Netflix a LOT more than I do Amazon Prime. I think the one dollar increase is well worth it!
Matt, you accurately present the Cord Cutter's Quandary. Which is better? Which is cheaper? Which gives more value? WHY DID I EVER LEAVE CABLE? (scratch that last one). You are correct both have their own strong points. Netflix has a wealth of content and GREAT original programming as well. Amazon is really working on getting their video offerings up to the level of competition, but the extended features of the Prime plan makes the value exceptional overall. Take advantage of the free trials as you say and decide for yourself. But in my opinion, unless you are really on a budget, cord cutting saves so much it might be possible to have both and reap all of the benefits. Together they make a powerful media offering for most everyone. I know you mention Amazon's new monthly plans, but my advice to anyone seriously interested in saving money is to just focus on the yearly Prime plan. Yes it requires paying a full year upfront, but the long term cord cutting savings makes sense.
I have been a Netflix customer since the early days of DVD only, and have enjoyed their transition to steaming through all platforms(PS3,Xbox,smartphone) and have no major issues. I have tried the Amazon prime video service through several platforms; PC, smartphone, PS3/Xbox and smart TV, to which was a horrible experience at first but improved over time. The interface is not very intuitive for smartphone use, but does work well once you get used to it. I prefer Netflix over prime soely for the kids venue it offers for my we ones. Also Netflix has a contract with Disney to stream all of there old and new animation content starting this year too. That's of course you really think that makes a difference to choose one over the other.
I actually have both--Netflix and Amazon Prime. I like Prime because of the music and 2 day free shipping. Also, I just uploaded a bunch of my pictures I had on my phone to their cloud. I listen to Spotify in my car, and I do pay for the subscription service. Netflix is great, but I hardly use it except to watch Orange is the New Black. Can't wait for the next season! Thanks for all of your informative videos!!
Agree -Prime does have a way to go...but they do have some shows that Netflix doesn't. Not a lot...but some; lol. Is it worth a prime membership? Depends on the show I guess but yeah, their music selection makes up for the video shortcomings...
I have both. If between Amazon and Netflix there is ALOT to watch. On a whole I like the Netflix interface the best. However, I like the interface for my Android phone with Amazon better than Netflix interface.
Maestro, I personally like Amazon Prime, mostly for the other features rather than just video. I think Netflix is the better choice if you are a huge movie, tv, etc, watcher. They certainly have a better/greater selection. I don't know if Netflix produces it's own original movies, but Amazon certainly does. Netflix may want to consider this if they haven't/don't already to remain competitive. Thanks again for keeping us up to date on the ever-changing digital landscape. Be well, my friend...
Hi! I didn't forget to mention it. This video is from 2016. The SNAP eligible pricing was announced less than a month ago in 2017. Thanks for the comment.
Amazon prime charges for some of the movies regardless of subscription, Netflix's largest investor is non other than George Sorros, you know the guy that destroyed Greece financially. I'll stick with Crackle, and Tubi.
Thanks for checking this out! We use tracked links and if there is any affiliate payout attached to it, I unfortunately don't see any benefits at this time. My parent production company would benefit. I get a static salary regardless of who clicks what :( Fun video though. Love your posts.
All these deals have gone to your head
IriaChan 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
LMAO
thank you for the update.. a fair and balance way of looking at both companies & what they offer. have a great week..
Thank you!! I tried. I love perks tied to both and of course always love your posts!!
Hi! Can I still get the add on of Showtime on Amazon with my Amazon Prime Video $8.99 a month?
Thanks for the heads up, I have Netflix now but have debated Amazon. This was very helpful!!
Glad I was able to help! You rock!
Thank you so much for addressing that question. I have been wondering that for a long time!
You are welcome! Thank you for watching!
thanks for the help. as we are deciding what we want to watch & who can give it to us for a good rate
I do like this idea of pay as you go. I struggle with commitment. This is perfect for me and my family. We currently have Netflix and Hulu but it seems if I get Prime I can possible cut the other two out and have one bill. Thank you for sharing Matt!
Thanks for the update! Amazon seems to really be re-thinking their strategy
It's nice to know about the new options. I have both Netflix and Prime right now. had Netflix for uears...and added Prime for the free shipping. Great video, very clear and concise, breaking down Amazon offerings (and it's little details) Vs Netflix, kudos!
if i have the $99 dollar a year prime could i get the $79 you offering here ?
Amazon is amazing it offers so much, thanks Matt.
Wow! Thanks for the heads up.
Thank you for watching! (:
Super helpful with a lot of great information. Thanks for video
What is the better deal for not regular shopper online?
I have them both great perks for the price ...Love them
Excellent!
Thanks for the update on Amazon Prime. I am glad I caught it at the deal you showed for 79/year. I don't know if I will renewing for the full membership or not but I sure enjoy the free 2-day shipping. (sorry I've been MIA on your videos, life happens! LOL)
I have both, the one thing I am starting to really like is that they are both doing their own shows. Some of them are pretty good.
Agree. Thank you for watching!
Amazon video is good but Netflix does beat it video streaming wise. Though the complete Amazon Prime membership of $99/year was well worth it. I love the idea of using the service during seasons!!
Me too!! Thank you for watching and posting!
From the UK sorry I come across with your video by thinking of signing for it Amazon prime video
Thanks for the info.
I share netflix with a neighbor, but Amazon Prime has many shows not available on Netflix. So, would it be wiser to enroll in Amazon Prime tv only? Or what would you do?
How do they compare to Hulu?
Hi Matt! Great info as always! Thanks! Have a great day!

Nice for people on the fence. I personally have the trifecta... Netflix Prime and sling. we love them. Thanks Matt

I enjoy both as well. Thank you for watching!
I am so ready to cut the outrageous cable bills just to watch tv shows.Crazy.I hope Amazon has good channels to choose from
I utilize both. Amazon's video selection is not stellar, but given Netflix rotation of streaming video on a monthly basis, I'm not complaining.
love my prime membership I need to start using the video part now!!
Thanks Matt for the comparison
Thank you for watching!
thanks for the info!

Personally, I have both...I tend to gravitate to Amazon...which includes linking existing video & music libraries
Thank you for posting!

Matt, I have been having some crazy, stressful times lately so I apologise for not commenting as much as I normally do. I just saw on Twitter that it was your Birthday yesterday!!!!!!! Hi!!! Glad you are back! Thank you for the birthday wishes. You=awesome.
I just got a Netflix subscription and I love it! Awesome review!

You should watch Man in the High castle. It's very good.

I have Prime/year. I also have twin toddlers. the selection for kids on Prime is AMAZING! Got rid of Netflix and haven't looked back. Great service.
Hi Matt, Great deal as usual! I like the photo storage possibility and I think I am primed to try Amazon. ;-)
Love it!! Thank you for watching!
what type of CGI software did you use to blow up the size of your head in this video?
I just have a disgustingly large head. I'm sorry you had to look at me.
+The Deal Guy U do NOT have a huge head at all!!!!! xoxoxoxo
keep the deals coming
I have both Netflix and Amazon Prime and I have to say, I use Netflix a LOT more than I do Amazon Prime. I think the one dollar increase is well worth it!
I had Amazon prime ,payed for it and now don't have it .My yr is not up .I have Netflix too.I have no clue why my account is jacked.

Thanks so much for watching!!

Thank you for watching!
I love all things Amazon
Thanks for heping make the decision
Many of your deals are via Amazon, thus making my full Prime membership worth it!
Love the way you think! You rock!

I love hearing that!
Internet used to be free through AOL and that ended; DUH! This too will pass... start and stop account with Amazon willy-nilly.
I have been a Netflix customer since the early days of DVD only, and have enjoyed their transition to steaming through all platforms(PS3,Xbox,smartphone) and have no major issues. I hear you and completely agree

Is this the right one for today? 7/2/2017??? That's what I got sent. Thx
Netflix is better when it comes to content and original shows. If you are on tight budget go for amazon.
you forgot to mention special pricing for Amazon prime for those who get SNAP eligible people for 5.99 a month.
Hi! I didn't forget to mention it. This video is from 2016. The SNAP eligible pricing was announced less than a month ago in 2017. Thanks for the comment.
sorry. got that in my new notification announcement ... lol didn't realize it was an old video
:)
All good and so weird this came in as a notification recently. You rock.
The only thing is Amazon doesn't have the Netflix shows!
Great call and for my wife's strange Fuller House habits, Netflix is a must-have.
thank you, I love all things Amazon! we luv you too
Thank you for watching!
love netflix hate that my 7.99 is going away . I like prime but hate there interface
Why are you screaming at me?! What have I done to you?!
Is it just me or is Deal guys head larger?
Amazon prime charges for some of the movies regardless of subscription, Netflix's largest investor is non other than George Sorros, you know the guy that destroyed Greece financially. I'll stick with Crackle, and Tubi.
good idea to get people to try amazon prime through the affiliate link. It's free for them and you benefit from it.
Thanks for checking this out! We use tracked links and if there is any affiliate payout attached to it, I unfortunately don't see any benefits at this time. My parent production company would benefit. I get a static salary regardless of who clicks what :( Fun video though. Love your posts.
+The Deal Guy We'll they should be making some money on this then. And hopefully it will be you in the future who benefits
Who is better Netflix or prime video
thanks for this video
Thank you for watching!
