- XF Extreme Formula - An Eye Melting F-Zero Inspired Anti-Gravity Racer with Excellent Course Design!
The XF Extreme Formula Beta Demo is available now on Steam: store.steampow...
#XFExtremeFormula
This game is currently being developed by Lake Feperd - creator of the excellent Spark the Electric Jester Games, XF Drive and he's also one of the creators of Sonic Overture.
For this video I figured I'd do something a little different - I've included one lap of ten different courses and spliced them together (to show off how varied the track design is). Hope you like it and happy new year! :)
man, you sgtarted really well with the transitions. But afterwards you did not keep the pace.
YOOOOO! Lake Feperd, really? Holy shit! I watched TehSnakerer's videos on Spark the Electric Jester, and I'm in awe of what he created there! I'm really happy he's making the spiritual F-Zero game he's always dreamed of!
I can definitly see it now. The entire graphics remind me of spark the electric.
My only real issue with this game is that it's SO Graphics-intensive and SO simulation-intensive that it's basically forcing me to cave on a new PC build alongside ACC. XD
Another one of those "Fine I'll make it myself then" type of game. Love to see it.
Looks better
Since the developer managed to make a superior version to Sonic Adventure games almost entirely by himself (save for music and a few character designs), I can expect good things from this as well.
Finally, a racing game with clean rendering environment with an actual sense of speed while 2000s breakcore electro jungle mix playing in the background
That's a weird way to spell Trackmania
I mean, BallisticNG exists.
Also, not breakcore, not even close.
try GRIP: Combat Racing
@@user-7sd89f7s9r +1 for grip, redout and aero GPX is also in development for the f-zero side. BallsticNG is very much wipeout
Yo! One of the Composers from the dev team here. Thank you so much for checking out our project! Fepard really knows his stuff, and the Sound Team understood the assignment.
Hope you guys stay tuned for more!
*LakeFeperd: "Sega won't make a new Sonic with Adventure-style gameplay? Fine, I'll do it myself."*
LakeFeperd does it himself, and the game is amazing. (Spark 2, and 3!)
*LakeFeperd: "Nintendo won't make a new F-Zero? Fine, I'll do it myself."*
...Something tells me the result is predictable! And effing good!
Getting this mate. I hope there's some heavy guitar F Zero inspired parts. Pumped!
This is why I love indie developers: they look at what the people want from AAA devs and every time they don't deliver, these dedicated fans decide to take up the mantle and give the people what they've wanted this entire time.
If Nintendo's not going to make one make one yourself.
Bomb Rush Cyberfunk mindset
@TheREALTyreeSneed2The main reason they say there won't be another F-Zero Is because the saga has never sold well. GX was a complete failure in sales despite being the best racing game ever made =(
I would love a new F-Zero... I miss the nice guitar soundtrack here@TheREALTyreeSneed2
The wonders of indie games
Sony refuses to let us have bloodborne, so we got Lies of P. Nintendo refused to give us f-zero, now we got this .
@@kaden-sd6vb Thymesia felt like a better bloodborne clone (also a bit too short), lies of p is a bit too victorian for my taste.
My god... I cannot tell if I'm crying tears of joy, or my eyes are watering because I dared not blink the entire video. Probably both.
Yup... TOTALLY buying this game. I miss F-Zero. I hope someone someday will be inspired to create an Extreme - G Racing game.
I really do appreciate your channel cuz you bring up some really awesome rare gems. This makes me miss F-zero and I'm definitely going to pick this game up pretty soon!
Of all F-Zero GX-inspired games, this is the best looking so far. Amazing music, tracks, vehicle design, difficulty (although more balanced) and above all, extreme speed.
I really hope the developers can finish this game. I will support them when the game comes out because we need more games like these!
This is so much closer to the GX/AX vibe than games like Redout. Love it.
Looking great! Definitely captures that good ol' F-Zero feeling. Got to appreciate the nice variety of tracks and environments, along with the nice sense of sheer speed at work. Solid design with the vehicles as well.
Love the way the music and sound transitions when you go into the space sections
Holy shit the sense of speed in this thing. The only game I've seen this frenetic has been Redout
This is the kind of game i adore. The fast pace dnb music and beautiful race stages.
this game looks amazing!
The feeling when you accelerate, the camera being flung back and then pulled forwards as you're being thrown back in your seat.
The environments all make the race feel like your going through many different places in seconds.
The music tracks compliment the environments beautifully.
The sound design feels right for this game.
it feels like the game has a clear vision of what if wants to be and communicates that feeling to people who have never played a game like it before.
i look forward to seeing how the game operates at full release.
lookin great so far, my one gripe is when you hit the boost, the camera shouldn't zoom in, it should zoom out. this will help with the sense of speed, as how it currently is makes it seem like you're braking
Good catch. That's something NFS did I believe
i love the antigrav racing games.
wipeout was a huge part of my childhood, and i loved redout.
after the disaster that was redout 2, im really looking forward to this.
thank you.
If you're a big Wipeout fan you should check out BallisticNG. It's straight-up a PS1 Wipeout clone with an absurd amount of polish and content (and track editor, and alternative physics in the options so it plays like the newer games, and...)
RO2 was a disaster?
@@BlueThunderO7 yes it was. its a pale shadow of what redout 1 was.
@@MrVentches i thought it was pretty good for a sequel.
Yeah baby! That's what I've been waiting for!!!
This and Aero GPX are the F-Zero games we asked for but Nintiendon't want to give us.
😯Wohhh dude no way, THIS A SICK F-ZERO inspiration game!😄👍🏻
Love the race music too😎🕹️
seems pretty cool! F-Zero's always gonna have some "je ne sais quoi" factors that i dunno if anyone will ever be able to fully replicate, but more games that play like it are always welcome. i do think there's way too much crap in the UI for such a fast-paced game, and I personally think separating Boost and HP is a bit of a coward move, but everything else - the sense of speed, the track design, and especially the audio design - seem top notch
XF's approach to boost is very different from F-Zero's. Boosting and dash panels snowball very hard and going fast regenerates your boost slightly, making it snowball even more.
Sometimes these non-horror games are good. Great driving, ABG! 👍🏻
I wish you to get a million subscribers as fast as possible, cuz you deserve it
When I heard the music I permanently understood that this is another project of Felipe. Awesome
Looks like it could be great! Looking forward to downloading a demo.
1:19 Mariner's Tribute feels like it was made by a surf_ mapper, and frikin' love it
whoa I thought Hot Wheels Highway 35 on the gamecube was fast, I feel so darn old watching this insane speedracing game 😅
I really like the lighting. The audio shift when going into vaccum is a nice touch. Lack of a track map to see your position at a glance seems weird though, and the visual effects feel a bit too much - would get tiring on the eyes pretty quick. I think the camera positioning and behaviour could use some improvement, there are multiple sections where there is insufficient view of the upcoming track. Jerks about a bit too harshly on boosts too.
Aero GPX is also a promising F-Zero-like. Perhaps the one that most resembles a sequel to F-Zero GX ! (And the music is great !)
I don't usually wright comments but, This game is SO GOOD like oh my god the music, The graphics, The GAMEPLAY, All OF IT, It is so good and I wouldn't have found this game without your channel thank you so much!!!!! One last thing if you Haven't and you have a PC GO PLAY THE DEMO NOW!!!!!!!!!
Hopefully enough people buy this to show nintendo that yes we still want more F Zero
It would have to sell many millions for them to take notice.
and let's be real, they'd charge up the ass for it too for people to play it. I'm just glad the genre as a whole is getting more attention.
I am absolutely looking forward to this game’s full release. :)
The new f zero game looks lit
You have impeccable taste in games... this looks sweet
Gorgeous animations and graphics, bangin ost... I'm in love
They need to bring back *WIPEOUT.*
Hell yeah
Play BallisticNG
at first glance i recognize this art style... it was spark series devs.
i think dev have already experiment (racing) on some spark 3 stages.
Hydro-Thunder vibes with the water level, downloaded the demo immediately and wishlisted. Thanks for the recommendation.
This is awesome! 😮 Someone needs to bring back the refresh of Kinetica!!
Brings me back to the ol arcade era... everything looks great
Game's still rough in many ways, but I can see a bright future if Lake addresses the worst issues. Absolutely worth downloading, though, this demo is essentially an early access with so many tracks available.
Holy shit this is awesome.
As someone who has played F-zero, star wars podracer and wipeout, this is fuckin sick as all hell.
This is very reminiscent of wipeout crossed with F-zero GX.
Man, watching this really feels like...DEJA VU!
Looks pretty good. Now I want to see an "Xtreme G" type of game too :D
THIS IS THE F-ZERO I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR!
You know a game's fast when they feel the need to include a "0" in the thousands' digit of the speedometer.
Awesome. Now I need an updated version of Extreme-G.
Looks great. I will try the Steam demo
God i hope this ends up with a multiplayer.
Watching this makes me miss Immortal Grand Prix.
This reminds me of hydro thunder
Same! Honestly, I think the "Mariner's Tribute" track might be a direct reference to that game.
Could be improved--the sense of risk isn't high enough, for example--but wow what a gorgeous game. Cool!
It's got the Chuck E Cheese arcade vibe going on.
Love the Y2K design
That second level definitely looks like it was inspired by Hydro Thunder
This is Lake Feperd's way of saying "If Nintendo won't make a new F-zero, then _I definitely will!"_
thank you for making me find this game
The sense of speed is the sauce YEAH!!!!!
If the developers flesh out this game and release it on Console I will buy
The only thing this game is really missing is maybe a little polish, characters attached to their machines with voice lines and stuff (unique stats too would be cool) would be some cool additions I think. We need more games like this, it looks great!
Ah yeah, it's not obvious in the video, but the game does already have characters attached to their machines and have unique stats (no voice lines at the moment though).
@@AlphaBetaGamer glad to see the dev was one step ahead :D. I super hope they’re successful with this project
"show me your moves"
Finally some actual scence of speed in racing game
I loved F-zero GX but this gameplay made me nacious!
it has very exciting parameters about the craft
very interesting...
thats a must play for me
Looks and moves great
Definitely get the game for music alone.
Is it just me or is Mariner's Tribute a Hydro Thunder homage? Game looks amazing though!
Lovely. Just hope it has an option for a more pulled back camera view, and a PS5 version please! :)
big fan of the jungle soundtrack
I watch this on phone and can't help but tilt it for control. 😅
It makes me think of that old flash game I loved as a kid, Age of Speed 2.
Good sense of speed
Can't get over that the developer of this also developed spark the electric jester
Now we need a game inspired by Hydro Thunder.
Pretty good. But at least one thing missing - effects when breaking sound speed (about 1200 km/h)
Roomba when I leave the front door open: the game
This was so fire
Looks sick!
Looks Hype!
...Who Needs Nintendo ?
Honest Critique tho.
Some of the Music is Kinda Flat. Some music at like at 5:11 is really Sweet Tho. So just rid of the Bland Tracks.
Other than that add some Character and Personality to the drivers and This looks Pretty Nice.
I thought it looked familiar, it's made by Feperd Games. The guy behind the Spark series, nice
I'm being exposed to so many awesome looking indie games.
Def gonna add this
this looks WILD
The demo has an extremely low amount of turning, i hope this is fixed in future track revisions.
Hovercar racing games are underrated.
not enough "YOU GOT BOOST POWER"
Now *THIS* is podracing!
This is what Cyberpunks vehicles traversal should’ve been
By the way, the dev added MTS (momentum throttle slide) from f zero gx. Aka you can drift for craY cray speed.
These guys know whats up.
Most classical new game ever
It looks alright but I'm a bit worried that the camera is too close to the car so it's hard to see the entire race-track.
Yea gotta agree with some comments. The hull durability and boost supply being separate, and the hull being tank level sturdy, is a bit disappointing.
Along with the whole cyberpunk superhero aesthetic lost for just the ships themselves, but it's the best looking F-Zero clone we got. Definitely on my radar.
For a second I was all "Why does a racing game need a RAM meter? Does the car have a computer in it?" Then I realized it went down when you get bumped by stuff lol.
iirc RAM measures how fast O2 is regenerating. It's not exactly a speedometer though it's closely related to speed
That's some spicy sauce 👍
1:21 HYDRO THUNDER!!!
This makes Wipeout look like snails races, I don't know if I ever saw faster racing game
Ballistics is, or at least feels, faster. Too bad its levels aren't quite well designed to be playable at the speeds it goes
Ballistics
I checked out Ballistics, it doesn't feel as fast as this. It's just really claustrophobic. Take a look at other racers in XF, they're just dots, and when you pass them, they're already gone
reminds me of Rollcage Stage 2
Ok I love it.
Wishlisted
Seeing this just has me wondering… do we have any racing games over the years based on Redline?
