If anyone wants an exact number on all the teams that registered for this Tournament, it was 1072. Although it is over 500, saying just "over 500 teams" make it seem like only 600 to 700 teams registered.
They're both really competitive and that's why they're my favorite games. But Nintendo is ruining the tournament by allowing items, that's not competitive play.

ThunderbirdIV25 Maybe it’s the recording quality, or the weapon / gear abilities you use (making them seem faster, when you are actually slower), or because their motion is really fluid (quick responses, sub strafing and all that). They definitely do not have custom settings, and it’s not likely that everyone is stacking a load of swim speed up.
It's nice to see Nintendo have a unique presence in the competitive scene. It proves that people other than children can enjoy their games and there is more than just cartoony characters
For all those people that think splatoon three is coming after 2 years after splatoon two It would just be the same thing but probably new modes and story mode

Many of the profreshionals would like to grow the Splatoon community, which requires helping newer, less experienced players get better. After all, everyone, from Dynamon to Penguitt to Latias to Dude, started where you are at some point.

I agree, but I think the nzap works pretty well to be honest, at least on tc and clam blitz. Nozzle nose I wouldn't say is as good on tc then the other modes. And it's not just the weapon comp. it's also that they kept separating from each other, but still you're right about everything.
