Blacks are 13% of NC's population, so at 17% they are currently over represented. Latinos are 18% of NC population and they are the ones that are under represented, why is that not mentioned ?
UNC-CH 1987. In my opinion, the board make up should have nothing to do with the differences among students. There are so many factors to consider, such as, the professions people choose. One would also want to consider their experience and past performance relative to what they need to accomplish on the board. if we tried to keep the diversity equal with the students, we would find we're changing the board more often than would meet the needs. We are also saying that just because you put a certain number of this color or this other quality of person on a board does not mean the board would improve. We should be ignoring the very things that DEI proponents are pushing for. Instead... the best person for the job.
Wow such a diverse board! I’m sure we won’t get any silly policy decisions.
