This is a very nice mall near many great restaurants, beautiful theater, and vibrant and well-maintained City park with a walking trail around a lake. It’s a busy mall but parking is usually not a problem. A very nice place to go hang out & shop, eat, and see a movie.
I'd say the only closed indoor "malls" still popular in central FL are Altamonte, Florida, and Millenium. The latter two mostly because of tourists. Those two are closer to theme parks and hotels on international drive. BTW, the last e is silent, pronounced Al-ta-mont
I'm going to film Florida Mall and Millenium next weekend, stay tuned for those videos. Thanks for letting me know about that E at the end- I'm not from Central FL and it shows.
Except the greasy disgusting popcorn smell permeates the entire mall. I like popcorn, but the stench from the popcorn kiosk in the middle is nauseating.
It’s nice to see a healthy mall, but this mall seriously needs renovation. It still looks early 70s. It looks like a mall you’d see from an episode of The Partridge Family.

"Altamonty" 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Altamonte is not close to the theme parks.
@@lenblack1462 I said those two meaning Florida and Millennium
The ‘e’ is silent in Altamonte
I wish they would include video of how it looked when it opened in 1974, and all the renovations following
I first visited it in 1977. It was the first 2 story mall that I visited.
nice beautiful big mall
I worked at the Sears there in the 90s. Nice to see the mall again. 🙂
Great video! Nice to see a busy mall. Thanks for sharing.
Still miss the original 1970s-80s look of the mall. It had the best character.
Are you sure the “e” in Altamonte isn’t silent?
I was made aware it was silent after this was recorded 🫣 I’m not from the area.
It's pronounced alta-mont. Not alty monty.
How strange, for over 40 years I’ve always heard it called Alta mont not Alta Monty. That’s too funny 😂
I'm not from the area :)
@@malltours I understand, forgiven. But if you were actually in the mall, it might’ve been beneficial to ask an employee how it’s pronounced 😉😉😌
hmm the oldest mall was the colonial mall.
Yeah, but it was torn down. I loved Ronnie's Rest.
@@lenblack1462 my grandmother worked there. i worked at the camera shop on the other side.
Yeah it’s funny that the Florida Mall and the Altamonte Springs Mall seem to be doing quite well, but the Fashion Square Mall is doing badly???
I think it's funny she can't pronounce Altamonte. You don't pronounce the e. (Al-ta-mont)
Fun fact most of the Sears buildings are owned by Sears and that company is so inept that they dont let go of these spaces.
It kinda looks like orange park mall to me
Except the greasy disgusting popcorn smell permeates the entire mall. I like popcorn, but the stench from the popcorn kiosk in the middle is nauseating.
The "e" in "Altamonte" is silent. Otherwise an excellent presentation.
