@@dipyoson superman, supergirl, batman, Spider-man, wonder woman... um and those aren't lazy, super heroes can have very simple names the whole point is so they can communicate without using secret identies, if they started doing the "say shazam with intent" thing to where he can actually the say shazam without transforming between the hero version then it be fine but dc hasn't been consistent with that rule for a while now it was introduced then thrown out later.

There’s a bit more to this. During the lawsuit over the title, the two companies came to an agreed that DC can use Captain Marvel but they can’t use the name as a series title (so they used Shazam) or on merchandise. Marvel for their part can title their comic Captain Marvel but couldn’t name their character that (hence Captain mar-vell). Then with the new 52 series, they decided to just call him Shazam.

I’m going to be honest, I think it makes sense that a Marvel superhero would have “Marvel” in their superhero name rather than a DC superhero because wouldn’t it be like naming yourself after the competition?
Billy Batson first appeared in Whiz Comics 1939, in 1967 Mar-Vell (The first captain marvel in marvel comics) was introduced. Pretty sure by you're logic Marvel would be naming a character from there competition

I remember in a movie back before DC stopped calling Shazam Captain Marvel. Shazam was flying off to I think fight Superman. Lex Luthor called him Captain Marvel or I think that was an earlier scene I don't remember

Just to add: DC was allowed to call him Captain Marvel inside the comics and other publications. They just couldn't use that name as the title of the comics. Thats why in cartoons and video games, they call him Captain Marvel.
Tbh I like captain marvel a bit better simply because the wizard he calls upon to get his powers is named Shazam so him calling himself by thr same name seems kinda redundant. At the same time it does seem cool that he calls himself out before he Transforms.
Also, one of the reasons why The crisis on infinite earths happened was to put Shazam on the DC universe

This is a nice brief overview. It leaves out a lot of details, but I understand you had to keep it short.
Here is one important detail though: DC never bought Fawcett. Fawcett was a large and successful magazine publisher. Theyhad simply shut down their comics division in 1953 as a result of the lawsuit.
DC licensed the character from them in 1972, and you are correct that Marvel had the trademark (which they had secured in a lawsuit brought by publisher Myron Fass, who had published his own Captain Marvel for 6 issues in 1966-67).
Though DC had to use a different word for the main title of their comic book, they were still able to use the name, because they had licensed the character from Fawcett in 1972.
It was not until 2012, when DC came up with the New 52 that they decided to change the hero's name to match the title of the comic and the trademark, "SHAZAM!"

Shazam is not a name, its an acronym which letters stand for other people’s names and its also a spell that causes lightning to strike Billy.
He's called Captain because he's the chosen champion as well as the leader and #1 of the Shazam family. He's called Marvel because of his godlike powers. So it makes perfect sense.

Lowe's but that's not the full thing he was still known as Captain Marvel inside the comics until around 2010 when they did the trials of Shazam. Because marble trademark the name they cannot have a comic by the name of Captain Marvel anymore but the character's name was still under copyright protection I believe. If you're interested I suggest you read the trials and Continuum where the one we know is Captain Marvel was still known as Captain Marvel and his successor who took up his place as the champion was the one named Shazam after the wizard. He gave up his name of Captain Marvel Junior when he took the trials to become the wizard

Huh? That's weird. Coz back in 2003, Billy introduced himself as Captain Marvel in Justice League Unlimited show.
When i was a kid, I thought his name was Shazam and that he was a separate entity from Billy and him shouting the name, I thought he was calling him to come out. Then years later, I found out his real name.
