I think not many realize that Tony Stark is the true hero of the marvel universe. He didn't have Cap's Strength or Natasha's Skill. He was just Human.
That's what many don't seem to get. He was just human, he was just like you and me, like the neighbour next door or the man you see in the supermarket everyday. He wasn't an enhanced soldier, a god or an assassin. He was just Tony. And that's all he needed to be.
He was human. He still knew his flaws, his fears, his mistakes and his risks. He had guilt and regrets, so much of them that they almost drowned him.
Tony Stark was the true hero of Marvel because he was you, me and everyone else of us. He showed us that you could be a hero, even if you were just "normal". It doesn't take a supersoldier to do the right thing. It just takes you.
Tony Stark showed us that. He was the Dad we all needed and now lost.
