i have worked for two years (till 2019) after my b.tech (in 2017) and then prepared for GATE and joined IITK (in 2020) for masters. Will these be considered as a gap in my profile?

Hey sachin, this video kinda provoked me to ask is Ranking really the only mandate to scrutinize Universities? How much can Ranking of a university misguide the University profile? Well, when mentioned about university from Dublin, it kind of triggered if that university is really bad or unrecognised however, it has got pretty strong alumni, faculty, exposure considering Ireland is one of largest IT hub, more opportunity, ofcourse, its size is small. Dont ranking divides itself into subcategories and research funds and governance do act on it? Whats your take on it?

A ranking is like a sum of all the different factors like employability of graduates, ROI, student:faculty ratio, alumni network, research output, etc. Like any sum measurement, you have to take them with a grain of salt. For example, rankings tend to favor universities with a high research output. However, if you don't pursue a research-based degree, then that's a pointless metric for you, right? Another example is class size. Wharton offers one of the best MBAs in the world, but they have a massive class size. Comparatively, other schools like Rice University or University of Hong Kong may be lower ranked but have smaller class sizes so you get to form strong bonds with your entire class and your profs. While rankings are an important factor when deciding a university since they generally speak to the quality of education, they're not the be-all-end-all deciding factor. You decide based on what's important to you.

There is no option for ECE. Every time I search ECE ,I am getting EEE

yeah you would get Electrical and Computer Engineering

Yup you can sort of tell what the electronics ranking is like if you average the ratings across EEE and electrical&computing engineering.
