Let me know which you prefer! Planted tanks with or without Co2 injection!

Without. When I had it there was a lot of work required, plus driving across town for refills. Too much to worry about.

Added CO2 yesterday, haven’t seen any growth but it does appear that the black beard algae is already going away. I have 2 mid to low tech light fixtures on my 90 tall.... thinking about swapping one out for a better light system. I use a mixture of gravel and the plant substrate I forget what it’s called and root tabs. Also does once a week with kiddos fert. I have a mid-heavy fish load.... I think. I had all schooling fish, 20 neon tetra, 7 other assorted tetra, 2 angle fish, 1 clown pleco, 3 bristle nose pleco, 1 sail fin pleco, 4 tiger barbs, 2 cherry barbs, 3 rainbow shark, 1 other silver shark fish(forget the name) and I added a 8” arowana 🤦🏻‍♂️🤷🏻. I know I love them so much tho I couldn’t resist. For 2 weeks he didn’t bother anything else but I’m the last 2 days I’m down to 4 neon tetra. Everything else he leaves alone but I’m gonna get rid of him in a month or two to a buddy that has a 1500g tank in his basement. All I really care about is the angle fish and they should be big enough to last till I get rid of him. Once he’s gone I’ll restock on my neon tetra and get some more angles and possibly some discus or something not 100% yet but I really don’t like the other fish I have. I’ve always done salt water or predator tanks this is the first time I’ve done a planted tank. It’s hard to find regular fresh water fish I can keep in my planted I guess that’s why I got the arowana. Any suggestions?

Another great video, I use fertz in my planted tanks, they get the job done for me. It does take time to understand how many hours of light & what amount of fertz for different plants.

Love the quick & clear explanation. Have you ever take CO2 injection off from a fully matured tank injected with CO2?

Thanks man! I think you would like the benefits if you keep a heavily planted tank

Nice Content! I do not use CO2 in my Tanks and choose plants for this environment. They are growing slow and looking healthy. My Focus is on Fish. But your planted Tanks are looking stunning👍
    Nice greetings from Germany🙋

I love Co2. I used it when needed. I don't always use it because you don't always need it depending on your set up

Having considered the pros and cons, so far the cons have kept me from trying co2. I'm still new at live plants and just having live plants for the first time is immensely satisfying as it is. Perhaps at some point down the road I will graduate to some more advanced plants and then I'll give co2 a try.

I think you hinted to a great point though. You don't need co2 injection to keep plants successfully. Co2 adds icing to the cake as far as growth and alows you to keep more demanding plants. I think you would enjoy co2 if you try someday. Thanks for stopping in 🙂

I prefer co2 system for planted aquarium. Its very best for plants growth and fight against algae. ☺ 😇

I use co2 in two of our planted tanks but the rest I don't. I do see a difference in the growth rate in the tanks with and w/out co2. But, the plants in the other tanks do grow just fine as well. :-)

I like with and without CO2. Personally when I do CO2, I keep the PPM a bit lower, usually around 20. Just enough to boost plant growth some and fight off algae, but not so much that I'm trimming weekly.

My CO2 go straight up from its diffuser, is that enough or I have to make it distribute evenly?

I'm using CO2 just because I can, but I'm pretty sure that my anubias and valisneria don't really need it 😜
