I remember playing snes on a plane as well. It’s nuts how the seats on planes have gotten smaller and there’s become less and less space between them over the past few decades. I can’t even imagine a snes fitting inside a airplane chair anymore
The Chinese version of the N64, the iQue, is very similar in idea and how it works. Doesn't use batteries but has the whole system built into what's basically a big controller. The games worked kind of like the Famicom Disk System and Satellaview where you get a little cartridge that you bring to a kiosk to load up games. I think they eventually added a way to do that online on your PC as well. These handheld consoles are so bizarre with their niche use cases it's amazing they've even been made.
Wow! I remember when you made the sega iterations video when you still didn’t have it. Really glad you do now. Hope you’re able to get the rest you don’t have!
Really cool to see you finally got the Mega Jet, the story was great but what i found the most interesting was that fact that a portable master system exists, like I don't understand why it was made but it cool nevertheless. Adam keep making great content.
@@AdamKoralikI think the issue might be since it lights up and can be a bit distracting. I’d recommend seeing if you can turn it off, but audio quality is significantly better. It must have really burned Sega of Japan Executives that the Genesis failed in Japan, but was wildly successful in North America and Europe. Like you said pride matters a lot to Asian countries.
Thank you for showing us the way SEGA messed them selfs up back in 1994 with all the shitty ways to keep the genesis around instead of making the SEGA saturn 100 times better and beat sony or nintendo back then !! And yes i know the 32X was a shit show ,
You know what i want one of those gaming console tvs from hotel rooms. Last time i stayed at a nice hotel was like 15 years ago but i remember they had a weird third party controller and you could play retro games up to n64 for like 15$ an hour
That Sega Venus prototype handheld looks fantastic, I would had bought it even if it was released outside USA. It seems like it still used the six button layout and same buttons from the Genesis 6-button controller. While I like the Nomad as well, I always wonder why they never include a Reset button on it like they do the Mega Jet. Because of the lack of a Reset button, player won't be able to get to the final level in X-Men cause you need to press Reset after breaking the monitor in the Mojo level before it.
Yeah - not a fan of the mic. The sound quality is fine and all but it makes it sound like a podcast instead of a personal RUclips video. The open air, natural dialogue felt nicer. It's jarring hearing the audio quality difference now as a long time watcher. Plus, it looks a little weird for this kind of format.
It bet you that if somebody got their hands on the Japan Air Lines version it will be just a matter of time before they make video cables and power supplies to use it on a regular tv
I assume you can play Sega CD games on it with the MegaSD and Mega Everdrive Pro, but like the Model 3 and Nomad, doesn’t have the components to handle CD audio. Also, really hoping you do a Rare Varients video on the TurboExpress and the PCE Shuttle. Would add the LT on there too but that goes for $1000 on eBay and I doubt you’ll ever get one ever.
20 years ago these could be ordered brand new (i.e never used) online from what I assume was a warehouse of unsold stock, for about $100 each. I got one and in that 20 years it's been out of the box only three or four times, and every time it was just to show it off to fellow Sega enthusiasts.
