Thanks for making this video! I'm brand new to motorcycles with the MT03 being my first bike and I was sorta expecting to have to just figure out how to do the oil change myself haha. Probably couldve figured it out but WAY better to have a video for my specific bike!
Hi guys! Anyone changed the little gasket? I got a brand new one but wondering which side sits to the pan and which side sits to the plug. They look like they are be made of aluminum, and there is a flat side and a round side. Tanks in advanced for your answer.
Could you tell me where I could buy those bar end mirrors for this bike? I'm not sure which ones to get because the oem handlebars have the threads inside. Please let me know when you can @TSTindustries
i added 3 bottle of 1qt mobil 10w40 oil which is 2,838. which apparently is lot more than this bike needs. I haven't had any leakage or anything but should I drain the oil just to be safe ?
@@LivingLikeGaryYT so with your bike on its electronic screen on press select until you reach the oil odometer press and hold select and it'll start blinking the oil sign and then you press reset and it'll reset it
If you are looking for a figure on how often to change oil if it just times out instead of reaching a mileage of use then I would have to point you to the suggestions by the manufacturer of the oil you use. The oil itself does not expire but the additives do break down and oxidize over time so the best bet is to look up oil manufacturer recommendations.
You don't have to be that precise. The level has to be re-checked once the bike is warmed up, and then you go by being in between indicator marks on the level window.
@@TSTindustries yea I just got told the same by someone on a Discord server. Thanks guys. I think can accomplish an oil change....hopefully lmao. Probs shouldn't own a bike if I can't at least do the oil.
Whatever the washer is that comes from the manufacturer for the drain bolt. It is made of material that is specific to this bolt and is meant to deform easily and act as the sealing surfaces.
We used the recommended filter from a Yamaha Dealership, we just couldn't get Yamalube in time. As mentioned in the video, we definitely recommend referencing the owners/shop manual. This is just a guidance video.
Typically owners manuals instruct the replacement of the crush washer with every oil drain plug opening. I have yet to replace one, but that is just me.
I can't in good conscience tell you to do that. I have seen people crack their oil pan with their "snug" and others have a loose enough drain bolt to back out when using their "snug."

Thanks TST for making these very informative and useful videos! I always refer to you guys for how to's 🙂
Now I'm definitely have to buy this awesome bike. Just need to find some money first.
You can do it!
Still eagerly waiting to be launch MT 03 here in India, heard some news that Yamaha has planning to launch before December this year...
LMFAO That glove toss at the end though!!!😂😂
Good video brother..from Mt 03 user from Malaysia

This is actually hilarious.
Quallity video as always,well done.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I did my first oil change and I think I overfilled my MT-03 by 400 ml idk what to do now if it's ok or it needs to be drained.
Thumbs up just for the THUG LIFE moment😆
First try Fridays.

YES YES YES, That is the easiest way to create an oil leak!
what brand wrench did you use to remove the oil filter?
nice video man but ya didn't show how you reset the oil trip odom
After my first oil change at 500-600 miles. How often should I change motor oil? (2023 mt-03)
👍 well done
Thx for vid. Cant wait to do it on my own :))
shouldnt you do an engine flush?
Excelente! Aplica también para la versión anterior. Gracias
Dope video!
Appreciate it
i watch to learn how to remove... the blinking '''oil'' on control board dash code... no mention regarding this IMPORTANT things... tip-A-tam-POW!
I figured it out thanks for the video
Great!
Can we get an air filter clean/swap video on the 2020 MT-03? I’m struggling to figure mine out.
Oh man...I wish we had the time for that. Between design, project management, manufacturing input, etc....just no time to get back to that.
Left knee trim remove behind there three Philips and youre there
What size torque wrench are you using ? 3/8 inch drive or 1/2 drive ? Thanks
the torque wrench in the video was 3/8 drive
Just did my oil, but a day or so later, I have the oil inspection reminder popping up on my display (not the red warning light) how do I reset that?
Your user manual says how to reset that. I don't remember off hand.
@@TSTindustries thank you, I referenced that and found it
@@josephkluck9526 if you found it can you tell me how?

Thank you for very usefull guide! Could you be so kind to give a link for Service Manual?
Service manual has to be purchased from Yamaha. The owner's manual is available for download free of charge
I recycle my oils on a pile of Christmas trees every new year.... i feel so green sometimes
Time interval to change the oil? (Less than 1k miles a year)

Thanks for the response
Can you still use the leftover oil from the third bottle?
If you store it away from excess moisture you can use it later.
If the engine top up view port showing empty aft engine run need to top up.
How to add 2.22? Does the bottle give 0.1 readings?
You don't have to be that precise. The level has to be re-checked once the bike is warmed up, and then you go by being in between indicator marks on the level window.

At how many miles should de first oil change be done?
Your owners manual has that information.
I changed the oil just like in the video but my screen has the oil change light on.
What should I do
there is a sequence of button presses that resets that. It is shown in your owner manual.
I just installed the WORX pack on mine it rips all the way to 13000.
That is great to hear.
What oil did you use ?
The quarts are on the table at the beginning of the video.
id crack loose the drain bolt and filter first before warming up the engine .. well thats just me on my r3 ✌
is the 21 model gonna be the same?
it should be

All that beautiful information but I still had too screenshot and zoom in to catch what oil he put in it. Lol 10w 40
All that beautiful info that’s already printed in your manual 😂 Gen Z
Would you be able to give me the exact oil for it I keep asking my iron pony and they keep recommending KN
It should show it in the video but it's Valvoline 10W-40.
@@TSTindustries Full synthetic?
I'd use yamalube and original filter...

How do you rest the oil light?
I got your message that you already figured it out.
Im having problems try to take out the oil filter it feels really snug in
Use an appropriate filter tool.
Yo I want that After market oil cup

Where do I recycle the oil?
Your local recycling center or automotive store.
@@TSTindustries every automotive store acepting oil and filters? how about other fluids on the bike like brake fluid or coolant?
Or 2100 ml, or 71oz

@@TSTindustries says to replace it but Yamaha don't bother listing the screw size or the washer size
@@AegisHyperon that is because they want you to go to the dealer and pay 5.83 for a washer. Yamaha number is 4YS-E1198-00-00

I dont have a torque wrench. Just make it snug I guess?

@@TSTindustries update: it worked out fine. I accidentally tightened really hard when I went to take it off originally. But thinks its all good.
What oil filter model is that?
The Yamaha OEM recommended one. You can find it at most motorcycle dealerships.
