Another great one, Lady Xee. This actually got me thinking for a sec on 1 topic. Simple queuing. I'm 43 & can't actually remember the last time someone pushed into a que. It's borderline HERESY where I live. If I am at the corner store, am at the back of the que with a full basket, & someone joins behind me with just a news paper & a drink. I'll let them go before me because I'm not in any rush, & I'm merely being polite. That just how it's done where I live. Why cause hastle? Be kind & friendly & it brightens everyones day. Simple

I've watched Mac and Blair for the last 3 years - it's a wonderful channel. Mac strikes me as a very thoughtful and wise person with a very zen attitude. It also helps that we see what he and his family think of the UK with a fresh perspective.

As a child we used to walk across farmers fields to the A1 (road) now it's the M1 motorway which was originally built when the Romans were here, the importance of the ability to walk through the fields, the road has a tunnel beneath it so you can walk through to the fields on the other side, through more fields to a pond which belongs to the local manner house, we would go fishing there in the summer, all of this is on privately owned land, not a worry in the world.

Very similar to a couple of Manor houses where I live. 1 Gent has just started replanting the local forests to help make our area even more beautiful & give people larger wilds to walk & spend time with their friends & families

There is nothing like being out in the garden, getting your hands dirty, connecting with nature, it’s just so peaceful, I love it xx

I have followed Mac and Blair almost from the beginning. They are such nice people and it was nice to hear he is so comfortable here. I watched every step of the couples' journey when they discovered they were going to have twins. All the children are growing so fast. Anyway, another good Reaction Island Girl.
There's a You Tube video 'Coast to Coast, 182 miles across the English countryside' you might like to watch. It's about a young man, Liam, making his way across England but, somehow, at the end of his journey I felt better too.

You can get really good deals with flights hotels etc.paris is about 1hour away by plane.a lot of people don't work weekends so you just book the Friday and the Monday so your only taking 2 days vacation.seeing that we have 5 and half weeks vacation you can do a few long weekends and visit other countries.

Queues. Generally if you are at the bar in a pub most people if they are getting served and know that someone else was there before them will point out "they were here first". It's just polite.

Mac was talking about Swiss* raclette _(a melting/cooking)_ cheese... on his burger. You can get a 'raclette' in every supermarket or cheese shop here in the UK. It is most often served with boiled potatoes. Also, like a Cornish pasty or Champagne, it has AOP _(appellation d'origine protégée),_ or 'protected origin status', and comes from the 'canton of Valais' in Switzerland.

I have seen trouble break out in a British queue.
It is not easily provoked, but can happen.
Someone tries to go ahead of turn!
And then, and then, the worst happens!
    They get tutted!
For a British person, the shame of that is indelible!

Really the comparison with the US ought to be with Western Europe, not just the UK.
And then for proximity in relation to diversity, it should really be Western Europe to just the East Coast of the US in terms of size.
You have one heck of a lot of diversity very closely packed.
You could chuck in Morocco or something if you want to take it further.
There is an awful lot of diversity in a compact space, and cheaply accessible
