Thanks for clarity on Ty departing. It was such a shock and I keep hoping Amy wakes up and it was only a dream. Graham, wish you well in your future but, I’m missing the Ty and Amy journey in the show. You’ve both have been great to watch over the 13 seasons.

I'm like most others, terribly sad to see him go but totally understand and respect his decision. I just really hope that we see him in future TV or movie acting projects as he is a very good actor. . Maybe he and Amber can reunite in a Hallmark or other movie sometime!! I'd pay to see that.

Heartland was a 2020 Covid lockdown binge watch for me. It's amazing how invested one can get watching 13 seasons in a short period of time! Graham and Amber, you really brought Ty and Amy to life. It's obvious you have great chemistry and friendship. Both of you have kept your integrity all along the way and it makes it easy to respect you as people outside of your characters. Not seeing this love story continue is HARD because it was so beautiful. Best wishes to both of you in all your future endeavors and adventures! May life be kind to you along the way and I hope that you will continue to use your talents and giftings to tell stories that have meaning for lots of people. Hugs to both of you as you navigate the entire world mourning.....LOL. Cheers!

My goodness, this is When Calls the Heart all over again. We lost Jack, the main character with Elizabeth and here we are again, we’re losing Ty, after watching Heartland from the very start. It’s heat breaking.... I had a feeling he wouldn’t be in season 14 , I heard rumors but didn’t think they were true. I respect, and so grateful he stayed with the show for all these 13 years. I thought of WCTH, too, when watching but I don't have that feeling of never wanting to watch Heartland again like I did with WCTH.
With WCTH it was like being on a roller coaster ride for 5 seasons with will Jack and Elizabeth get together or not as the writers teased us and then when they finally start their relationship together Jack goes missing several episodes then he briefly comes back they finally get married then Jack goes missing again then boom he's dead.
I know fans talk of how there was seasons that Ty was not in them as much but he never went missing from the show like Jack did and Ty didn't die off what seemed like the next day after they got married.
Most fans wanted to stick with WCTH but I haven't had a desire to watch that show again after Jack died and that is coming from someone that watched every single episode for all 5 seasons that lead up to Jack's death.
Heartland gave us many episodes of them together! Ty there when their relationship begun, there as a husband and there as a dad. Not as long as most fans would want but he was there for many seasons so much credit to him and the writers.
I don't get attached to actors like I do their characters so I am always okay with another actor coming in to take over a part another actor had played but I know most fans don't want to accept another actor.

@@MoMo09809 yes, it’s from another tv show called When Calls the Heart. It was basically the same Heartland Amy-Ty storyline but with a twist into the early 20th century. Like Heartland, the actor (Daniel Lissing) that played Jack in that show wanted to leave. I feel like they were more creative with the way they killed him off tho. Heartland completely jumped a year while in When Calls the Heart we saw Elizabeth’s grief.
If u like Heartland, it’s perfect for u! Seasons 1-5 are in Netflix (will be removed in Jan21) and seasons 1-7 are available in Amazon Prime.

Like others we miss the story of Ty and Amy together, but Graham and Amber in this Podcast gave us a new perspective on how to watch and think about Amy's ongoing role as a single mother and what her objective should be. We really need Ty not to die.The story is to depressing and upsetting for everyone. We watch these stories so that we can forget about what is happening around us at the moment. You say that is a beautiful valuable story to tell but not in the time we are living through at the moment.it’s the wrong time so many people are suffering from loosing loved ones themselves. They don’t want more sadness. The beautiful lovely stories we should be seeing are Ty Amy and Lindy together in a beautiful strong harmonious family unit. The script writers had plenty of time during Lockdown to change the scripts. People don’t what to be touched with sadness we have had plenty of it. Please bring Ty back into heartland Ty And Amy are Heartland it won’t be the same without them together..

I'm a 72 yr old widow in the U.S. who has been evolving since the loss of my soulmate husband 2 years ago. Having binge-watched the entire series over the past several months, I was heartbroken to learn that season 14 (which we won't see until probably next year) was to be a tragic game changer. You were spot-on in your comment that some viewers would feel a loss similar to that in real life. Your interviews with Ambar Marshall have given me a whole new respect for you as actors. You both seem to be "old souls" in your understanding of life and death, and you both seem to have a compassion for others that is consistent with your TV characters. Thank you for choosing to tell this story. Thank you to everyone at Heartland who wanted to show how Amy and the family continue on after Ty's death. While painful and tragic, it is real. I know it all too well. My husband died young and left our small children and me to continue on without him. I watched episode 1 and was so relieved when Amy had so many similar reactions to me. I have said so many things that she did. I believe my husband will always be with us and I carry on to make him proud.
So many people do not want to think about someone dying so young. They ignore it. They turn their head or they just walk away. It is easy when it is not your life. I had many people walk away from me when my husband died and it hurt. I cannot ignore his death. Everything I do is a reminder of him. We shared everything. Our children are part of him. He is always here. Out of sight, out of mind works for some, but not if it is your life. I cannot put my entire life out of my mind and keep living.
Having Amy's story played out on TV makes me feel seen. I want people to see it. I want them to know how deep loss can be. It sucks. You keep moving forward because you have something or someone that needs you. Some days are good, some days you just want to cry for hours--even years later.
Life is hard. And I am grateful that Heartland is facing it head on and from what I have seen done a very good job of conveying some of that grief. Thank you.

They made me feel deeply moved, because you two are and always will be Ty and Amy, part of my life. I love them as if they were from my own family. Graham wishes you well, as well as Amber, even though your departure hurts us a lot. I have a heart with holes now. I will have to learn to assimilate it. Thanks to both of you, you are two amazing people and the Heartland family is my life of my own. Thanks for accomplishing that. They taught us that with love anything can be achieved, Ty could be a juvenile delinquent but he found a surrogate family who supported him, helped him and loved him so much that they managed to make him the wonderful person he was. They taught us pure and true love, that love that is only achieved with respect for the other, they taught us the value of a family loving and respecting each other at a dinner, with strong family mandates, with respect for the elderly. Go if they teach us..!!! , I think that is the secret of success. Thank you Graham for letting us teach a Ty who came out of darkness into great light. I don't know if you even get a chance to read these comments in your super busy lives, but the portion of this podcast that referred to asking the more beautiful questions became very real today as our kids' home was devastated by falling trees in a wind event. It would be easy to ask, "why us", "why now". But instead, we want to ask, "How will I respond to this event in my life? How will I look for the good to come out of this? Who came alongside us in this really hard thing? How were we spared in what happened? How will I make this horrific event have meaning in our lives? How will God make beauty out of this ugliness?". Thanks for helping me think through what it means to change the questions so I can help our kids see the good that is to come when the worst of this is over. Just wanted you guys to know that what you share is heard and applied!

In 2021 within 4 months, I lost my Mom, my Dad, and my step dad to cancer and Alzheimer’s…what a rough year. I cared for my bedridden Mother for three months at my home and she passed with me at her side. I discovered Heartland over the 2021 Christmas vacation, and as a horse lover and previous owner, and a woman who rides a Harley (lol), I found myself binging on the show for the first time and fell in love with this beautiful family. The Ty and Amy relationship was one that just made you feel like you were cheering for this thing to come to fruition and when it does, it made our hearts happy. ❤️ For me, I accidentally heard about Ty’s death while watching Season 11 and I’m
Now on Season 12. I have to say my heart hurt and I couldn’t believe what I was reading. Back to reality, I read up more on the show and the two of you and I have such great respect for you taking time to share this discussion on Graham’s podcast. I suppose I had found my own solace in the show from such a sad year only to have to face death again even though it was “only on TV”. Through amazing actors and those behind the scenes, the Heartland crew has found a way to make you feel like you are part of the family and I sure needed that this year. Sending love, hugs, and much respect to each of you @Amber Marshall and @Graham Wardle. And Graham, here’s to following your calling and may you be blessed with success in your new endeavors!

I just discovered Heartland and binge watched 13 seasons. I love the family. It comforted me during the pandemic. I figured something was up, that Ty was being phased out when Ty was going away to conferences, Mongolia, etc. They were getting us used to the separations, Ty not being there. I have never watched a tv show where I laugh and cry so much. It draws us in.

I watched Heartland through twice, it became a bit of an addiction, especially during this lockdown, and I loved the Amy Ty story and was devastated that Ty wasn’t going to be part of the Heartland story anymore, however getting back to reality, it is only a story, and actors are only human and have their own lives, so they move on and get on with their real lives. Good luck to you Graham and good for you that you are doing what your heart is telling you.

I am in the united states and was able to watch this with my elderly mom recently. I had already watched the whole thing before but being able to rewatch it with my mom has been such a beautiful memory. Just seeing her face with the beautiful scenes with the horses and watching her reaction to Tim and the other characters has been indescribable. I appreciate all the hard work of keeping this story so wholesome and realistic. It was nice to have an escape during the hard times we are facing. Thank you so much!!❤👍

Thank you for the amazing way you portrayed the part of Ty on Heartland... I live in the states and so I have not seen the first episode of season 14. Definitely sad to see you go from the cast but excited to hear how you as the actor are led to follow on to what is next. One thing I definitely appreciate about the show Heartland is the way they deal with different heartbreaking situations that real humans have going on in their lives. With me, it's not about being religious it's about who I look to as my higher power. I do look to God and the Bible for direction. I appreciate the open way you are and how willing you are to try to understand how other people feel. As you were talking with Amber you mentioned spiritual prophet... I like that and I truly think of God as my spiritual prophet who leads me in the way I should go. Years ago my mom got sick and I lost my job right at that same time. But it gave me the chance to travel back and forth to where she lived and see her! She passed away a few months after that. In the meantime a friend of mine had me apply to be a pharmacy technician at the pharmacy she worked at. If all of that hadn't happened I wouldn't have been open to that opportunity. God leads me along. I do wish you well and pray that you find the truth that you're looking for. Cheers!

First: Intro music is so emotional and made me cry knowing Ty is dying. I just learned about Heartland last month and Ty dying is the reason why I haven't had the heart to finish S13 and watched the 12 seasons twice now. It was generous of them to explain why and its understandable for actors to move on for the next project or step that will take them away from the show. But being so fond of the show I wished this isn't the case. However, I wish Graham all the best and have that contentment in life he was talking about. Hoping to have another interview with Amber. I love your conversations.

I would like to add that Ty dying was the only way to honor the beautiful love story between him and Amy. Thank you for sharing your hearts with all of us Graham & Amber! I haven't watched season 14 episode 1 yet, because I haven't been able to find where to watch it here in the US. I'm really sad that Ty (Graham) has decided to leave, but it doesn't sound like a decision he took lightly. I know when I do see episode 1 that I will probably cry my eyes out, as I have read that many have. We only started watching Heartland after the whole covid issue started. We started watching the series to "get away" from our real life issues. Watching Heartland made us feel good, laugh, admire the family values, and yes - even cry. We called it "getting into the bubble." We would be home at night then one of us would say...."are you ready to get into the bubble?!" :-). It really has helped us get through all the covid stuff. So thank you Heartland folks, in a way you have been a saving grace for us during these difficult times! Best wishes to ALL, and Graham....I hope your life is thoroughly blessed ahead, thank you for blessing all of us for 14 years!

Ty will be sorely missed. I didn't grow up with his character ..I grew older! But watching this story from the beginning, it bought back all the teenage angst that we as youngsters all went through (I'm sure). Now the actor has moved on... I suppose it would be difficult to portray a 25yr old character when the actor is this side of 40yrs ....LOL!! This would be the perfect time to re-invent the Amy character... also introduce a new heart throb.... one that we can all fall in love with again. (Amy as well of course.. LOL, ) A 'Marlboro Man' type... big, strong, silent, successful Rancher type .... maybe with a tragic past ....maybe also with a youngster? Amy married her teenage sweetheart..... Quite frankly I'm so glad that they decided to end Ty's character this way rather then watching a divorce!! The Amy/Ty relationship was at an end where TV is concerned (as heartwarming as it was)! Now the start of the next (adult phase of her life)! There is still so much story to tell and I for one would love to see these two characters collide! This is also one of the very few 'family' shows left on TV and I so hope that it continues! If any of the writers is reading this ...please hear me! I don't think I can go through 18 episodes for crying!! 2-3 to cry and remember then enough! Maybe 4th episode.... 1year later?

Loved this podcast, both parts. I found Heartland a bit like by accident on Amazon prime while watching McLeods daughters and when that finished I looked around for other programs and Heartland came up. The best series ever for many reasons. For me mainly all the work you do with horses, I used to ride and work with horses in my youth and appreciate how genuine Heartland shows the horse work. I live in Sweden and we have a tradition of gentling horses rather than breaking them so that in Heartland really appeal to me. And I could feel a connection to all your characters as well as the setting.

It is very important to have a show that honors all that we go through on these tough times.

I’ve watched Heartland over and over again season 14 I haven’t yet Netflix hasn’t showed it. I lost my husband of 40 years five years ago grief is never ending. Graham please come back to the show you and Amy are heartland and make us all happy. You learned young kids they can mess up make wrong decisions it can make it right and grow to be what ever they want to be.

From a fan perspective, the whole Heartland family feels like they are our friends. And it's hard to lose a friend. Watching the family go through their grieving process was heartbreaking. Watching Jack put Ty's hat in the water was his way of moving forward and honoring Ty was so touching.
Watching Amy grieve and trying to deal with their daughter was so real. It was a wonderful thing.
