One of the first things I did was BD high idle kit, has a turn knob, anytime I hit the parking brake it kicks on, can turn the knob left or right to decrease or increae I have it set at 1000 rpm
i put in high idle last winter, and it's such a nice mod to have. at -40 the truck's temperature would drop so much even before the truck would kick in high idle. and it only ever seemed to go up to about 900 RPM. i used a variable resistor dial. so i can control thee RPM for the situation, and not just have an on/off.
That's the old way of doing it IF you want to wire it to your uplift switches. Otherwise just buy the BD high idle kit for 100 bucks. It plugs in on the passenger side and has a twist dial you can control how high it idles all the way up to 3000 rpm. Takes 5 mins and no drilling. Just set your parking brake and it will idle up. PRO TIP: Set your parking brake on before you get out and when you remote start on cold mornings, it will idle up and warm up sooner.

Nice!
High idle/pto is in the layout book for whatever year your vehicle is
Regardless of where you got the information from, thanks. I never knew this.
Great videoing and info. Thanks!
Why didn't you just use the cruise control?
BD Diesel makes a high idle kit ftr not sure how it installs compared to Aaron’s fix for this but just saw it on a search for my 2015 F250
Will this work with remote start?
I have a 2019 6.7 and I work day and nights year round all the time and my truck does a lot of idleing we’re can I get the high idle kit on my truck?
Which type of resistors are needed and where can you get them? Great video, thanks!

Pay $100 or do the resistor for like $5-10 at most if you already have upfitter switches
The resistors are on Amazon a pack of 100 for like $6
my 2021 7.3 does this also but it's gas crazy
What
@@kentdavies1988 my gas 7.3 does a high idle automatically if idle
@@danbrown8310 you should get that looked at.
@@kentdavies1988 I contacted Ford said it was part of the 7.3 system if you idle longer than 45 minutes to keep catalytic converter clear
@@danbrown8310 then why are you commenting
Nice truck
So i have a 2019 f350 6.7 how do i engage the high idle or do i need a kit
It’s so easy like a $10 upgrade. Just RUclips high idle mod 6.7 I did it in like 10 mins
Lmao😂 I just read the same thing before watching this video
Lol. Seems super legit
Would this be good to do on a gasoline engine like a Crown Victoria?
Honestly, no.
lol
