Duncan and Sir Handel's Grumpy Day
What happens when two grumpy engines are sent to pull a train together? Only chaos!
I am currently writing/ editing FIVE separate scrips - including Sodor at War episode 7! But I wanted to film something so made this little story - personally I believe it's criminal that these two have never had a proper story together.

I love it! Most people become friends because they like the same things! These two became friends because they HATE the same things! Genius!
Another amusing episode.
You’d have thought Sir Handel and Duncan would have grown up a little. But nope. Once a grump engine, always a grumpy engine.
Its said that middle age is often called second puberty/adolescence especially for men. Its often more behavioural rather than physiological though.
Yeah, Sir Handel and Duncan are the Narrow Gauge Versions of Gordon and James I think sometimes.
The boys be always grumpy legends say they are still grumpy until this day
Duel between the 2 best narrow gauge engines. I can’t wait!
Bring Smudger into the mix
and you've got the perfect terrible trio.
Can't forget smudger Bulstrode my friend!
Y'know, I wish they can just have their moments: Being grumpy without any form of comeuppance for it.
That was great Sir Handle and Duncan Getting along I never thought I'd see the Day
Squidward can be their friend too
Why wasn’t this an actual Thomas episode? I would have loved it as a kid.
I've never seen a story like this one before. And I have to say it really does work. Both Sir Handel and Duncan are grumpy engines and it is interesting to see these two act like that :) .
Amazing story and I think Duncan is very stubborn and Grumpy 🤣🤣🤣
DUNCAN AND SIR HANDEL ARE MY TWO FAVORITE NARROW GAUGE ENGINES!
I LOVE IT!
Love this. Nice to have two of the haughty narrow gauge engines go against each other. I wish the show brought back Smudger then there would be three troublesome engines. That would really be interesting because they're right. Everyone else is too nice. Have three blunt narrow gauge characters would balance that out. Sir Handel and or Duncan could mock Smudger about being turned into a generator. In turn for Smudger insulting Sir Handel's wheels and Duncan's rock and roll. Then all three could bond over terrible railway management.
Yea but it would get too much after awhile. Why do people like aggressive snarkiness? Donald Trump, Ramsey, Ricky Sanchez, Kanye West.
Ironically, its ok for adult males to do it. If children and adult females do it, its considered irritating.
It's not so much about liking bad traits, but balancing out the characters. I think one of the reasons why the narrow gauge engines don't get much storylines even before Mattel interfered is because some of them have limited personality traits to work around. Skarloey, Rheneas and Duke are all wise and determined, unless you tell stories from their past or have them share stories with other engines there's not much to work with there. Rusty is the maintenance guy and that's basically it. I mean you could write about how he sometimes feels lonely being the only narrow gauge diesel or adapt some of the magazine stories, but other than that there's not much to work with. Sir Handel and Duncan were both initially rude and haughty until Sir Handel was made wise during seasons 10 to 12. Afterwards unless he reverted like Daisy there's not much to do with him now. Even then it'll be like writing about Duncan. The only narrow gauge engines that you can really write for are Peter Sam, Duncan, Smudger, Freddie, Luke and Millie. For example you could bring Smudger back and have him try and redeem, but still have fears of being turned back into a generator. I like all of the narrow gauge engines, but from a writer's perspective I see why some of them don't get as much storylines as others. It's not so much about liking bad traits, it's about taking and using them to transform the character and keep their journey going.
The engines that complain the most
Animation, Story and Voice Acting was excellent! Funny seeing Sir Handle and Duncan been happy about been Grumpy!
Another Little Project sure to blow us out of the park, can’t wait to see what you come up with next.
You had me at “Including Sodor At War-Episode 7”
Excellent work 👍
*Charters That Need To Come Back : Fearless Freddy , Mighty Mac*
Bertram proteus And Smudger too
Nice story as always!
Absolutely amazing story about a great duo! Keep up the great work 😊
I just realized these two barely shared screen time in the show. I know that when they switched over to the larger narrow gauge models, it made sense to cut the cast back for budget reasons. Leave it to the fans to fulfill the untapped potential.
Mattel should make a sieres of the grumpy engines
I love episodes about the narrow gauge engines. But surely the Skarloey railway would have enough money for an ex-South African or Australian Garratt to haul the slate trucks - either that, or the Thin Controller is probably a cheapskate
FINALY ITS HERE!!
Loved this!
Great video mate, best wishes from the midlands.👍
I can’t stop laughing at Duncan and Sir Handel arguing.
3:07 Twin Trouble Reference !
I Love Narrow Gauge Engines.
Me too and I missed them.
Very nice story with a nice happy ending! :D
Love it!! :D keep up the good work mate!
Duncan is so upset, and thinks Sir Handel pushed him off the track and derailed him on purpose
Peter Sam singing in his sleep! My that would be a scene!🤣👍🏻
The Grumpy Duo. Lol
The title might as well be “Everyday”.
Both Duncan and Sir Handel share the same braincell in a nutshell.
Think about "Twin Trouble" Thomas and Friends season 6 when Donal The Number 9 Scottish Twin Engine got upset when he thought Douglas The Number 10 Scottish Twin Engine pushed him off the track and derailed him on purpose
This reminds me of "Bulldog" Thomas and Friends season 4
Where did you find the narrow gauge engines?
Is any day not a grumpy day for these two?
Amazing fan episode
Awsome episode
Mr. Stubborn and Mr. Grumpy.
Sir Handel and Duncan the Grumpy Engines.
Grumpy by name and grumpy by nature
0:37 Stupid animals? That’s not nice.
I respect all those animals around the world.
I love Sir Handel’s color it’s my favorite!!!! Electric blue?
Methinks these two complaining too much!!
So... the narrow guage Statler and Waldorf from the Muppets?
Well done not giving Sir Handel & Rheneas a forced South Wales accent like other narrators do. Talyllyn is not in South Wales and we don’t all speak with that accent.
Yeah it’s annoying that! My thought was that it worked enough without the welsh accents s4-12, so there wasn’t any point in trying to attempt a correct accent and get it wrong!
The Peel Godred Branch Well said. The stereotypical Welsh accent used on the current season is so frustrating. Keep up the good work
@@ThePeelGodredBranch Honestly, hearing Sir Handel and Rheneas with plain central accents sounds so.. off...
The reason their given Welsh accents is due to their basis. I think it sounds nice on Skarloey and Rheneas.
I think maybe you should’ve used Smudger for this Episode instead of Sir Handel.
Watched it #GRUMPYBROS
2 complaining engines just sir Handel's is the grumpy Engine with George the steamroller when it comes to Duncan and Sir Handel they are never friends you can either be a friend or being a enemy
Sir, handle and Duncan are similar in every way, so paring them up would be a funny episode because these two are the jackass of the group
Should said Gordon and James are Grumpy engines to
Yeah, I think Gordon and James are the Standard Gauge Versions of Duncan and Sir Handel, Duncan is James and Sir Handel is Gordon I think.
Yessir
Im just starting the vid btw #watchwhiletalk
Nice
Both is bad and very trouble by grumpy and don’t be grumpy
I have a question I've been riding Thomas episodes that I wanted a show to Mattel and hopefully make them into episodes but I don't think that's going to happen so I was wondering if I show you the scripts of the episode I wrote can you adapt them in the episodes and give me credit for the stories and if you go on my RUclips channel which is awesome 4885 you can find playlist of whistles bells and horns down for characters that worked on the island of Sodor the mainland and international characters give me credit for the give me credit for the whistle bells and horn sounds too if you agree to my question please say yes you would adapt my stories because if you do this would be the closest thing I'll have to an achievement
Im Excited For This Story!
Fabian_ 268 Sir Handel And Duncan Always Complain -_-
Oh
haha
what track did you use?
How long will this video be?
matt0044 it will be just under 5 mins. Classic era episode length :)
Helllllllllllllllllllo guys
Question, why not take two trains of it?
Sir Handel is the worse one. Duncan at least when he makes mistakes, leans from them and has a guilty conscience. Sir Handel was always a keyhole.
2:30 That is the truth.
