"I don't like taking coin from adventurers, I'd much rather strike up a deal."
*This is such a good idea for somebody that the party regularly visits for potions!* Taking notes!
Would it be insulting to ask for a pumpkin spice-flavored potion?
I was just thinking she reminds me a bit of a Pumpkin Spice Witch!
Yes
@@TimothyBrannan both of these comments
Probably
It absolutely would. Don't you dare. That's how you get cursed.
I would like to dress like this witch please
Mo Mo you DO dress like this witch
@@GinnyDi in a good way
"Cream cheese, but can you do that without adding dairy?"
"I can do that!"
This is my new favorite person.
The potion in question does nothing, it just tastes like cream cheese, without dairy.
when you think about it, cooking is just alchemy
Lmfao, my character also requested no dairy!
Same reaction from me.
i requested no nuts
@@devinwhite5064 So is chemistry!
“Do you have any monster bits?”
“It’s a safe bet.... no one cleans out the Bag of Holding.”
True, no one does!
.... I, do... just re-inventoried last week... got rid of the ogre's head tho, sorry. Lol
I’m in charge of both the inventory and the NPC list in our campaign- on three separate occasions I’ve thrown the entire party off by pulling out a potion everyone else entirely forgot we had
My character: Could you make a health potion but make it taste different
Morelia: Oh no, I can't do that
Morelia later: I can make potions taste like pretty much anything
My character: D:
Who would have thought that health potions are so complicated to make, right? ;)
I said almost the exact same thing.
Me: I'm just looking to restock on health potions
Morelia: I can't do that!
Me: It's a health potion tho?
Morelia: That I can do
@@WellintentionedWarlock I think she initially thought you meant a potion of good health that would somehow improve your base constitution.
Morelia: Do you have any bits and Bob's from monsters you've faught?
My character: No I most of the people I fight are, well, people.
Morelia: Actually, that could be quite useful.
(I can't believe this was what i improved first time i watched it🤣)
HAHA oh my god I love that 😂 that gives Morelia a dark turn!!
My character said something similar although it was the rotting arms of a zombie.
I imagined that the fire newts blood was to hold wild shape all day and that I had it so we traded and I would need to return for the other potion.
@@GinnyDi or a heroic modern medicine turn, organs can save lives. 1 time I roleplayed (with GM permission) that my artificer casting revivify was actually a heart transplant, and since I spent a turn getting said heart the GP cost was halved.
I said something similar, it’s hard to surprise my bard but he was _shocked_ lol
Morelia: "Were you your parents' first child?"
My rogue that got abandoned as a baby and was raised by a pair of halfling thieves: "Yeah....see, that's kinda complicated..."
My half-orc who was "raised by the tribe" on her mother's side, and who has no idea who her father was, is right there with you.
My kobold who hatched alone in an abandoned cave: "Same.."
My drow abandoned on the surface by his sire: Uuuhh, does adopted count? Because yes, no, then yes and yes. I've...had four.
My barbarian tribe member turned life cleric turned warlock of the 'undying': Geez. Uhhh... I don't know? The first as this body or as the soul? Also, does reincarnation affect anthing? What about immaculate conception?
my amnesia having changeling had trouble with that question as well lol
Funny story, the wizard I was doing this with actually has a mess of harpy feathers in her bag!
You too, huh?
Did we all just blast a bunch of sassy songbirds at the same time?
Kinda curious if she needs any Slaad parts, my Profane Soul Hexblood encountered a couple back in town that are still... mostly fresh.
Morelia: Are you suspicious or do you give people the benefit of the doubt?
Me: You sure are asking a lot of questions ...
Morelia: do you have any bits and bobs from a monster you've fought recently?
My character, a rogue that multiclassed into a necromancy wizard: I have seven goblin skulls, three of which are studded with diamonds, i've heard they don't work very well though.
Morelia: oh that's useful actually
My character: *Takes notes on how to use goblin skulls*
Hey at least it's better than some blood soaked coins my wizard has for reasons...
Dang, if you haven't already, look up demi lich in the monster manual. Your necromancer is going to love those skulls.
How about a chatty armour-repair-person, or a personal stylist charged with making the PC presentable for a big event (the PC can be reluctant)?
PLEASE, I would LOVEEEEE one about clothes..........
Edit: and fancy outings and social comfort and party food and dancing and and and......
Honestly, the most "fantasy" part of this is that any character of mine could walk into a witch's cottage, with a clear idea of what they needed; my characters tend to the "y'know, now that I'm trapped in this web, a universal solvent WOULD be quite handy" camp.
Great job as always!
Morelia is a delight. She's just so kind and friendly, and I can't help but want to assist her in making the best potions possible. 10/10 would buy potions from again.
Morelia: Potion of flying. The only thing is, since it's starting to get stale it might wear off a bit early which means, of course, that you drop out of the sky.
Me: Oh, so it transforms into a potion of surprise plummeting.....
wonderful video and a great addition to the Ginny-verse. :)
She did say she was having a two for one deal!
Lol
My character, who is afraid of hights, was SCREAMING at that point🤣
My char: asks for a carrot flavoured potion
Morelia: *reaches for an orange coloured phial* 👀
Do you... actually read minds? Jokes aside, very cute char and vid ^^
Lol that’s crazy
I was thinking orange flavored
Are you playing as a Harengon too?
ah, my character asked for something similar, a pumpkin flavored healing potion.
Straw berry flavored *potion ends up red
This is so fun! Have you ever thought of doing one as a Patron trying to coax over a hero to becoming a mixed class warlock for them?
Omg this is such a good idea
I just love Morelia so much, this sparked joy
Don't throw it away
I actually have been planning to make a Barbarian who actually specializes in potion-making so throughout the RP I was thinking of what he was saying. Great work! Can't wait to see what you come up with next!
Barbarian alchemist making all natural performance enhancers.
I was actually trying to run my warlock this way by having him wanting to be an apothecary in his backstory
@@kylejacques8577 YO that's honestly dope. What was his reason to being an apothecary?
Accepting no coin, but instead telling the adventurer what the NPC needs was brilliantly executed. I really enjoy your videos - this one in particular made me a bit nostalgic for the old video games, where they would put prerecorded video segments.
I'm totally using the "buy one get one" sale with a random potion in my next game!
I just love her. ❤ but then again I also play a gentle-hearted forest gnome maiden with flowing hair who almost exclusively wears green, brown, and white 😉🌿🌱 Fern would find Morelia a kindred spirit, methinks.
My Loxodon monk would giggle at 2:40, lol. "Shit, man, maybe with that I could finally fit through doors!"
Loxodon monk!! I love that!!
Morelia is so savvy about acquiring ingredients. I've already offered her a regular supply of ant mandibles after the shrinking potion. and she's still rattling off a list of other things she would like :D. It is welcoming though, having a shopping list of things to be unloaded if they are come across. A variety of things to help out a member of the community with, perhaps for some coin or potions supply.
I enjoy the inclusion of the timer that you added. Also these are great for getting in character. I've used them to help my partner as they are just getting into role playing and have had trouble finding their character's voice and these have helped immensely.
I love this series!
What about a chat with an inn keeper or a bartender?
Now I'm suddenly intrigued by the notion of one of Ginny's characters stopping in at Quincy's Tavern...
Bartender would be perfect!!
This was lovely! I really like Morelia.
I think for another POV something where the player is choosing loot from a horde or inquiring about a specific wondrous item might be really cool. My main PC sure loves treasure- but if she had to choose between it and something else? That's when the interesting answers come up.
I love that there's a Ginny D Cinematic Universe!
there is even an expanded universe if you count the response videos in the playlist.
"Causes hairloss in some people" looks at Primn who's already bald....
Awesome as always, Ginny!
Speaking of love potions... Our group refer to Philter of Love as the "Magical Date Rape Drug." The idea of getting someone to drink a thing that overrides their ability to consent seems a little less fun when you think about it.
@@dziooooo That sounds very reasonable to me.
I'm literally in love with her!! She's so cute and sweet!!!
I've taken to using these videos as practice for fleshing out potential characters I keep coming up with (I don't have a problem, you have a problem, shut up). It's great for figuring out if a character is too one-dimensional or narrow-minded.
Thanks Ginny!
My Halfling Wizard with only 9 HP at level 1 would probably love that potion of heroism, for uhh obvious reasons.
My tiefling wizard agrees
@@eveescastle5866 Lol, low HP level as well?
Why do low level = low hp? I mean, at least give us a bit more so we can survive to get mid levels at least!!
@@davidparkes7741 I believe it's sitting at a 7. It's been a minute since I looked at her sheet
@@kennashey I think that's just where things like AC (armour class) & how you role play help you to get to those later levels.
I'm playing as a changeling rogue in our campaign and he's absolutely ransacked a hags hut, along with completing a quest netting him around 10 healing potions and a few of poison, he'd try to completely merch all them for that precious precious gold
Morelia: Although, it can cause some hair loss in people...
My warforged character: my what now?
THAT SHIRT IS THE CUTEST OMFG
I WANT IT
It's from Unique Vintage!! They have a few different designs like this, with cute lil retro pin-up witches.
Awww, my no-nonsense warlock Nona would be utterly dumbfounded by Morelia's liveliness, but I'd like to think they'd both let their cat familiars meet and play together (out of the shop where no ingredients can be dropped, hopefully!)
This was a great roleplay, Morelia is adorable!
Morelia: "Were you your parents first child?"
My Orphan Drow: *Concern*
That ad lead-in was just great. I am so happy to know all the characters in the Ginny Di cinematic universe!
I love Morelia even more now! So looking forward to seeing this year's calendar when it's out
Okay I already loved her but she got even better she’s so sweet!!!! And it was an interaction that would fit with my character!!! Some of the questions would strike a chord but it would be good for her to talk to another witch. She’d definitely be a returning customer always bringing in extra supplies and she’d be sure to always give the cat his much deserved scritches!!!!
I was literally thinking of responses the whole time and think I may have created a character out of those responses this is very helpful. I also love the outfit, wig and set. You can tell you put a lot of thought into it.
"Although it may cause hair loss, so maybe not. "
My lizardfolk character: "... I don't see it being a problem unless it also causes scale loss."
I love that your shirt looks like Halloween Rachel Maksy speeding away on a Vespa 😂 also this series is my favourite thing ever!!!
LOL My first thought was the shirt reminded me of the original Bewitched series and I was about to try scrolling the image down to see the whole design! 😅 Love these videos!
Omg that’s so cute you’re right!
Morelia: "Well, you've proven yourself trustworthy already with the love potion situation."
Me who made Morelia make a Philter of Love: *Panic*
Morelia: "Ever been shrunk down very small before?"
A:"Hey! That water was really cold!
"we're you your parent's first child"
my fighter who has a twin sister who was born a few seconds before her: "well yes but actually no"
Thank Ginny! First time doing this and for my necromancer it was a delight to talk with Morelia, he's always a bit grumpy and sarcastic so finding someone genuine as her it's good for him. Oh and btw, the potion was for a Charisma boost :P
Is that potion bottle in the thumbnail the dice jar from Protect the Caravan? If so, that's awesome, lol.
My character (Allison) asked for a love potion (I had forgotten about the side quest) and I was laughing so hard when Alli got denied.
After that she asked for something that makes hair grow really fast (I panicked okay) because at one point she was so out of money she pulled a Jo March and sold all her hair.
Imagine my face when Mori said she wouldn’t include an ingredient because it caused HAIR LOSS 😭 what a coincidence
Also when Mori asked what items Alli had picked up on her adventures she told this story of how she (assimar) also sold her wings in essentially the dnd black market and she had a few feathers as a keepsake that were very sentimental and valuable to her.
It made me laugh so hard when Mori was just like ILL TAKE THOSE OFF YOUR HANDS 😃
I would love to see a POV video that was a little “darker/more serious”? One that a gloomier villain or bad guy would interact with. That would be really helpful for us DMs I think :)
Have you tried the Augury one? I love the vibes of that character!
@@AnnikaOakinnA That is indeed more of the vibe I am looking for, but I was thinking something a villain leader themselves could talk with, since I don’t think a possible bbeg would look for a bodyguard job.
@@therightdragoneye9754 Ah, interesting! I see what you mean haha, Augury could fit in the backstory days as they worked their way up but probably not once they were BBEG status. Kind of a niche idea, but a nifty one!
I'm convinced Ginny is working some witchcraft and each of us is seeing a personalized video
The background music was so fun! Reminds of Wizards 101 a bit.
It reminded me of Harry Potter.
You actually threw me off with the question about siblings. I hadn't thought about whether or not my Necromancer had any before...
My tiefling wizard has huge chunks of her memory missing from trauma related events when she was in her 20s so much so she thinks she is younger than she actually is. But also couldn't remember if she had any siblings. It's well something...
My fire genasi monk was left at a monastery when she was a youngling...so she doesn't know if she has siblings or if she is the oldest or not....
I don't know about useful, but what sprang to mind was two gladiators meeting before being summoned into a colosseum arena. They don't know if they're going to meet in battle, but they have time to kill before the next round, and one strikes up a conversation for... whatever reason; maybe secret nerves. With clerics on hand; death is rare, but it's still nerve-wracking preparing for blood sport.
First one of these I've ever done and I really do think this would help me know what my character would say in these situations.
The Heights one I had to think about and I eventually ended up deciding that she's afraid of falling from such heights. Which is funny considering she has a shield that will prevent her from taking fall damage.
That could be why she was drawn to it!
@@Randomness823 That's such a cool idea that I wish that was the case. Sadly I was just given to me by the dm for me to able to basically fight off an evil bird version of me. But she's definitely going to want to keep the shield close to her.
@@Mary_Studios maybe it wasn't the reason she obtained it, but instead the reason she kept it? If you're still wanting to play with that idea
Homebrew moke genasi
"I can condense myself to shrink so no, yes??"
"I don't breathe so waterbreathing wouldn't be useful"
"I have been hovering off the ground this whole time flying won't be of much use"
"I don't have a fully physical form my hands are, smoke"
Morelia: here’s a potion of water breathing
My half shark character: I’m sure that would be useful to someone I guess
"not the cat's pee, though, I can use that. Good for a potion of speed. So, what kind of potion would you like?"
"not a potion of speed..."
Morelia: A potion of dimunatuon
My halfling: Is this some sick joke
I'm playing a small howling with a height complex and the "have you been shrunk before" and "are you afraid of heights?" Definitely would have set him off lol
Very fun nonetheless
Great as always! I just signed up for the annual pass for World Anvil using your code! I figure if my players are constanly canceling our play sessions, I can play on this to keep myself in the world, and then hand it off to them to play as well!
The English Accent is very well done; and the costume, set and script are all excellent. Drawing and sheathing the spoon was very smooth.
I use these for my novel characters. It really helps! Also a Varient of her will make it in my novel. She's sweet.
The "Ginny Di Cinematic Universe"?? Oh hell yeah! And two sisters? Like the D&D Charmed Ones. ;)
Morelia is SO MUCH FUN. My current campaign ("War of the Witch Queens") features witches from all over the multiverse, Morelia will HAVE to make a cameo appearance. Certainly, the characters will need some potions and the friendly neighborhood wood witch seems like the best bet. Thank you for doing these!
I might actually do this one with my brand new character Wysper! She's a warlock who does not like her patron and is desperate to find a way to get rid of her powers. I actually find this POV very fitting for Wysper due to certain questions and some comments about hands. Her arcane focus and sign of her pact with her patron is that her hands are stained black, which she tries to hide by wearing gloves all the time. Hopefully I get the chance to make a video response to this with Wysper some time!
go for it. I will always encourage people to make response videos.
@@jetvulcan2020 Thanks!
“Many times. I told you about that one time in the Barjeeli prison? Best manicure I’ve ever seen was on one of the guards there.”
“Well baby girl, to be quite honest, I don’t need either one, but I do see a use for that water breathing one. I’ll swim out and animate a dead shark to terrorize those bigots fishing at the Orangmens Pier.”
“Oh baby girl! That one will be perfect, I’ll use it on the zombie shark!”
“I came down here for something that could both shore up my Mohawk and be used to lacquer my nails in a pinch, but also could heal me?”
“I will have to drown my disappointment at the nearest bar. I thought for sure you’d be able to mix me up a new hair tonic. How about a pomade then?”
“Baby Girl! I can’t believe you’d say that to me! The Sass! Well, if you must know it’s this Mohawk. My animation Magic just makes it lay right down! No height at all! Tell me how’s a Necromancer supposed to keep minions and a Mohawk without a good pomade?”
“I’m allergic to Paladins these days. They try to make me break out in flames. Which is so undignified.”
“Make it taste like nostalgia and my first love baby girl.”
“Nothing but these bones.”
“It’s been a week, at least. I’m just glad my moronic party leader finally found the way to the inn. I was about to lock him out of my Tiny Hut!”
“Nightmares? Not when I sleep, only when I see untamed cuticles on nobility. You would think they would take a little Pride in their manicures!”
“Secrets, oh honey, i have allll the secrets, I’ll spill that tea later, when we get to the bar.”
“The dead are the ones who tell me the most secrets. Usually about who it was that made em that way. That’s probably why I keep helping out the city guard with them Murder cases.”
“I was my parents first great disappointment, but not their first child, no. My poor brother, he’s carrying on the family farm all by himself. I send money but he’s so proud he doesn’t want to take it. Just last year his oldest son was conscripted and I went down to Silverdale and told that idiot recruiter… well, that’s how I ended up in an army, but I’m the seventh son. If you needed to know.”
“Well, I’m fine with it. Can’t resurrect the past can we ? Hahahahah! We ain’t got enough gold for that but we can try!”
“Honey, my hands are a work of art, my cuticles are the height of perfection. Elminster himself has inquired as to my skincare routine and I hope the good word helped your business, so hook me up with that lotion! I can’t be getting all ashy now.”
“I’m a realist sugar. I believe them when they tell me who they are, but I don’t go looking for trouble. Unless that trouble is at the Bar!”
“I like the heat sugar, it makes the flesh rot off the bones faster, this way I don’t have to make do with zombies and can just use skeletons.”
“All my lessons have been learned that way. Sometimes I think I missed my calling as a sad song Bard, but really, I’m just too concerned about my manicure to play one of them instruments. These hands are GORGEOUS.”
“I don’t like being surprised by mimics, but other things aren’t too bad. I was in this inn that had a cat named Jeffrey once and that little kitty almost got himself turned into kitty flambé by jumping into my bed late at night. Turns out he was just a good kitty and wanted a snuggle.”
My current (and for now, only) Character is an Artificer who isn't really fond of "magic" as most people perceive it, but his nephew that he's taking care of during the game is a child mage. It was fun to imagine how this grumpy bastard would respond, and it helped me with my rolplaying. This was fun!
Love these series, though I verbally improved asking for a love potion only for later having that contradicted.🤣
I played this with my dnd character, who is a witch(sorcerer) that comes from a society where casters are distrusted and discriminated against. It was nice for her to talk with Morellia. Since she was a witch too she was the first person in a while that my character could be open and relaxed around, and she opened up quite a bit more than she usually does. It was also cool cause she could relate to Morellia talking about potions and ingredients. It was cool to see her in that situation.
"Have you ever had a potion of Hillgiant Strength? Did you know it has fingernails in it?"
My character, who just asked for a potion of Giant Strength: "So about that potion you're making..."
I would love to see a tailor or seamstress video! Maybe the adventurer has come in seeking a special new cloak or simply some repairs to their favorite tunic? That is a side of the d&d world we rarely get to see but obviously need. They would have so many stories about their clients!
Morelia, offering a shrink potion.
Me, a 6“ tall magicless fairy with a 12“ sword…
Admittedly, that made a few of the questions a bit interesting (I don't have much need for a potion of flight, or much space to carry bits and bobs from monsters).
"Were you your parents' firstborn?"
My tabaxi who was found as an infant hidden under a hastily placed pile of branches and leaves in the woods by a human couple who couldn't have children on their own, who then promptly adopted him: Well,
This is so creative and entertaining! I'd watch a hundred of these.
I love these POV RP videos. They're great for practing RP and figuring out your own characters in a low stress environment. Can't wait to see the next one.
Morelia is my favorite of your npc's. She's just so much fun to talk to and stuff. She's nice, charming, and light hearted. I am planning on using her as a recurring character in my game - if my players allow it ofc.
Morelia: What kind of potion are you looking for?
Harmony, my tiefling vampire spawn wizard: This may be a long shot, but could you perhaps make one that allows a vampire to walk in the sunlight without turning into a pile of ash? Asking for a friend.
Morelia: You must be joking, there's gotta be something else.
Harmony: Figures. Well, then perhaps a potion that repels creeps who don't know how to keep their hands to themselves? Also for that same friend.
Morelia: Ah, that I can do.
My Favorite thing about your RP NPCs is that they aren't overtly antagonistic.. even if you know they're dangerous (or evil) they're not grilling you or bullhead or interrogating you, in their questioning...
I don't know her name, but I would love to see a POV with the Gnome Wizard from the "Roll up your attributes" video. or another Rulebook Rock video =D
Wisteria!! I'd love to give her a POV video eventually, but I do have a "Steal This Side Quest" video coming up with her!
@@GinnyDi excellent. As a DM, I really love the steal this side quest series.
Wonderful addition! :) In the future, I'd love to see a POV with Mariska, from the D&D Goes Domestic video. Treat yourself to using a pre-existing character from the GDCU, eh? Plus having her ask about the PC's spending habits and such could be very useful for fleshing out shopping trips, something that's so often completely optimized. Do you tend to save a lot of money, are you a haggler, do you generally find things to sell to shopkeepers, do you build relationships with merchants... and, of course, are you a gambler.
omg a morelia pov? let’s gooo
I couldn't play in enough games for all the characters I was coming up with so I just became a DM.
I love Morelia and look forward to you having an opportunity to have her interact with one of your other characters as well.
I was wondering just which character though! It's a tough decision! :|
@@kennashey, Edith is the most likely case (with the whole thing about Love Potions) though I could see it with Augury as well.
This one was a lot of fun answering from the pov of my alchemist character, who was looking for something a bit more mystical than what her elixirs could typically do
this was great, love the idea of directly exchanging favors and ingredients.
I love the idea of bargin bin potions.
Morelia: Potion of flying. The only thing is, since it's starting to get stale it might wear off a bit early which means, of course, that you drop out of the sky.
My Fairy PC: *points at his wings*
Morelia: "Have you ever been shrunk down very small before?"
My halfling: "That is literally my entire life, why would I want to be smaller?"
Ideas: Tilly, Nymwen would be a good pick for the Halloween season, a lonely ghost who won't let you go until you've entertained them (writing a book you see), a villain that loves to talk/monologue, an overly personable shopkeep that sells you things you don't need but is convinced you do, a gate guard who can't let you in cuz you just missed the curfew (but mayhap they can send a word to their superior), a werewolf that will decide whether to turn you/let you go/eat you based on how you answer (or so they say), a tavernkeep who tells the local ghost stories- all of them true.
My gnome Paladin gets drug in by his Dog mount. He grins and smiles as the dog pushes him forward. he pulls out his medalline of his god and whispers to it waiting to see if it shines. it shines and he grins looking at the witch. "I... i.. i... ned.. potion.. of inteelllgance... I got dropped on my head as a kid."
morelia: do you have any bits or bobs of the monster you’ve fought
Bartolomeo: well i do have some finger nails from my dog, golden star.
These videos are super fun and helpful! I've just started DMing, and making stuff up on the fly is a bit daunting. I like having this practice as various npcs, to really get into the feel of these characters and make the game more fun
Morelia: "Do you have a certain flavor you particularly like?"
Cloud: "CHEEESE."
My character half way through:IS THAT A CAT CAN I PET IT *runs over to the cat
NPC:don’t forget to pet the cat on the way out
IM WAT AHEAD OF YOU
Morelia: mentions a love potion situation
Me, whose dnd character got love potionned by her ex: "uhhhhhhhhhhhh-"
Always love a new ginny pov video. Time to do it for all my characters, let's go.
GINNY YOUR MAKEUP AND HAIR AND LIPSTICK LOOK SO SLAY IN THIS VIDEO!!
7:39 My Tiefling, who doesn't know their parents: 😬
I would like to see a pov roleplaying video where you’re welcomed into a church of a random god
