thank you for saying that. I really miss doing this. I just wish I didn't have to take two weeks off to complete a short 20 minute film. Hoping to find a way to do this without having to sacrifice time away from making my carvings that I survive on. So grateful that there are some people out there that remember the older films I made!

Gotta watch getting ticks on ya if you’re going to sleep outside.

We were just talking about the fear of ticks whenever people realize how much time we spend in the forest. I used to camp solo once a week in upstate NY and although there are a lot of ticks. You just make sure you check, and I rarely have to pull one out. It's definitely on my mind a lot, but I think it's not something that should keep you from enjoying the outdoors

Thanks so much for saying that, it really does mean a lot. It's been tough since my housefire when I stopped making these to get back into it A 20 minute film takes about a week or two to complete which means I take time away from making my carvings that I live off of. I will find a way for sure to get back in the saddle again because I miss it.

Well brother I certainly miss seeing you work and I love your artistic take on all things wood. Your Apple bowl video sparked the fire in me that got me back into wood at the age of 58. Kinda dig your pickin to.

@@TheRedhawke that made my day, thanks for letting me know. I'll be making more for sure. Just might take a little while. The longer version of this will be out soon.

You have a great sense of art. That video you made a while back on tapping birch was so beautiful, made me wanna sit on a porch whittlin' with my Gramps, if he were still here. You are casting out some good forest magic, keep doin what you doin and I wish you the best of luck. Theres something special in taking the time to slow down and hear what someone has to say, even if its just rambling, and you doin it right. Theres love and good wishes being sent your way from a whole lotta people who appreciate.

Oh man thanks so much, this is such a nice thing to say. I just released a new video of myself in my favorite forest I grew up in. Damn man thank you, really. It's been a journey thats for sure. I got so many haters for that birch sap video which no longer bothers me, but months after my house burned down (electrical failure) and I lost all me gear. So it's been hard to put time into videos as I don't get paid to do so, and it takes time away from my carving work. But I plan to make many more!! Comments like this make it all worth it. I really appreciate you reaching out, and loved the story about your Gramps!! That's what life is all about. Little piece of tree in your hand, making shavings. It's actually the great uniter as everyone on earth has this in their blood! It was a way of life up until 200 years ago!
