Yeah, the video was a protest to the laws against women driving in the Middle East
the only country where that was the case is saudi arabia. and i think its no longer the case.

I don't know what all strong female singers you know but there's an oldie from 1977 (Heart - Barracuda) that it's just wonderful, and from recent years, Nightwish - Ghost Love Score from Wacken in 2013. Their singeo, Floor Jansen, will blow you away.
