    This was such a good video! I now realize I’m moving my arms and hands too much and I have been focusing on spinning the rope twice! I also think I may need handles that spin much faster! I have old cross rope with their handles. Time for new ones!

    Yeah this is perfect advise for the correct form. Although difficult when starting out, I would also add not pulling up your knees to clear the rope. Keep your legs straight. It is all in the quickness of the wrists.

    Zen Dude,
    I want to thank you for this video and these tips. I was pretty proficient at single unders, and I had pretty good form, but I still couldn't perform a double under. After I saw this video and about 20 minutes of practicing, I was able to do double unders. What helped me the most was the slow motion of you whipping the jump rope and letting the inertia carry it under me. That tip improved my timing and is something that no other video tutorial mentions about double unders. Thanks.

    Thanks for this video. Incorporated jump rope in my regular workout routine and as a beginner in jump rope and subscribing to your channel helps me a lot improving my jump ropes. Today after doing jump ropes for 4 days as a beginner, I was able to do my first double unders 3x consecutively on every 4th bounce,I think that's not bad for beginner. Again. Thank you and more power to your channel.

    Started trying double-unders a year ago. Could maybe do 3 or 4 in a row to this day. watched your video and i can now get 20-30 unbroken. Mistake #4 was my issue. Nobody has been able to articulate the process quite like you did. I always tried to force the rope on the second pass, which just threw it into my legs or interrupted the flow of the rope.Thanks!

    I started on 26th of dec 2018, running n jump rope. i couldn't even do 3 jump properly. Early morning 30 mins exercise and 5mins jump rope in office before work and evening 15mins jumps, 45 mins of exercise plus punching n kicking bag. (i take 1hr sleep after office before evening workout because i wake up morning 4am every day and sleep 11pm :D) well, now i can jump 100 without stopping. also i have been learning criss-cross since last two weeks. now i can add criss-cross in between my regular jumps few times. now im practicing double under. thank you JRD for all the videos.
    little bit of my health story:
    i was born with pneumonia means grew up weak and always sick. Now have Sinus problem since last 6years. It makes me sick almost everyday. getting cold and fever happen every week. i take medicines everyday. i couldn't even take stairs to walk because of weakness. i use to feel im out of breath.
    it's never too late to start! it's not even a month but i feel so good now. i am active, i eat well, i can walk n run longer, i'm always using stairs. i have never felt so healthy in my life. im not going to gym but im working out all by myself, maintaining my own timings. youtube is my trainer, JRD is my JUMp ROPE MASTER. Thank you so much. wishing the team and all the viewers a healthy life.

      Sometimes, even after you lose fat there might be water retention in the face which makes the face look round. So, you need to drink a lot of water for the body to let go off the water stored in the face. I say this from personal experience.

    There is a lot of emphasis in the jump rope community about this move. I've been jumping for about 9 months and have only completed 1 proper double-under. But then I ask myself WHY the need. It's sort of a trick like criss-cross. It doesn't really add to the intensity of the workout as compared to the degree of difficulty of the move. Doing an intense basic jump is maybe even better (without the frustration) to get the heart rate up as well as successfully jump. I could even "pogo" with a basic jump to get the same spring/jump. It feels like it has become more of a thing about simply being able to say you can do it competently.

    • @JumpRopeDudes
      @JumpRopeDudes  4 года назад +1

    • @JumpRopeDudes
      @JumpRopeDudes  6 лет назад

      Vishesh Dhawan - any motion you complete throughout the day can put strain on your back... Jump rope to bending over to picking up a fallen utensil... all these things should be done with "good form" to avoid injury.
      Doubles are intense... It's the difference between jogging and sprinting.

    Jumping rope since Jan'16. Been through 3 crappy rope brands- but hey...I was a beginner. I bought cross rope orange 1/2 pound, black 1/4 pound and green lightweight. Got some cool green handles too. after using these ropes for 2 months, there is no comparison to the other ropes. I'm not too horrible at jumping rope...but the smart investment in good ropes like these makes the last 10 mins of my workout at the gym much less frustrating and more efficient. #dothething
