I still find it hard to believe that the fighters of Final Fantasies I and IV fought the first 6 games' major bosses. Omega is the hardest boss I've ever faced in Final Fantasy V. Seeing him in my favorite FF makes me more confident I'll beat him. Amazing battle, phuxeds! Omega is called that and an asshole for a reason, and the gamers will never lie! :(
For anyone wondering, Surge cannon inflicts damage equal to a characters' half max HP and sap. This means it is impossible to survive if the party does not use curaga or curaja right after one hit if Omega decides to launch consecutive Surge cannons.
It took me more than a hour to beat him the time i menaged to do it. But it was worth it just for the challenge for me. Man, feels really good to beat hard challenges like these on videogames. Oh, i beat him with Ceodore, Ursula, Palom, Porom and Leonora if im not mistaken.
The description is wrong Surge Cannon deals 50% of every character's max HP and inflicts sap Arm does single-target damage equating to 50% of the target's current HP and will inflict Confuse if not immune to it
Electromagnetic Radiation ends after like 8 turns or you can just use a Lunar Curtain to deflect it. I beat Omega with my Level 99 Cecil only. You can use Spider Silks when he uses Omega Guard and it counts as one of the two hits as well. As for Maelstorm that always hits the whole party no matter what. So use Mega Elixers or Elixers when he does that or his Arm or Surge Cannon. Basically just keep using Lunar Curtains, Hermes Sandals, Spider Silks, and Decoys.
Last time I fought this guy, I wanted to fight it right after Gilgamesh, just for the heck of it. I never spammed so many X-Potions, Phoenix Downs, Curaja, Reflect and Thundaga before but, damn, did it feel good after I won.
Haven't really seen it written anywhere yet but yea just use Edge's throw command(Fuma Shuriken). It actually made it quite easy. They pierce right through Omeguard with full damage and take it out one level too, with no counter. I just attacked with only Edge and used everybody else for healing.
a good tip to defeat omega is to ONLY use meteor, both with rydia or with dualcast palom...make the black mages attack, and other do the support work, limit ring and twin stars help a lot
Reflect DOES fall eventually, I know. Plus, he is all but immune to physicals.... The reflect trick is a good one. Finally, if you EVER let him have a turn at below 10,000 health, he uses atomic blast, to take you out.
Arm deals half of your CURRENT HP in damage (so it can't really kill you), Surge Cannon deals half of your MAX HP in damage. I never really thought about using Cid and his Thor's Hammer, that was smart of you. Using a blue fang makes him use Meltdown which 9999's you entire party (I learned this the hard way, twice).
haha. I understand now. I made this comment before playing the game. I already beat every boss in the game including Omega. Granted it took me a few tries, but enough patience and good timing finally allowed me to take him down :)
lol i just had golbez and rydia spam meteor with the others healing or tossing dry ethers. definitly harder then nova dragon (who only has one threatening attack) and ultima weapon (whos really just an easy version of omega)
okay...besides the end part, this fight doesn't even look hard...just annoying as fuck. Far as I can tell, Nova Dragon is the hardest boss in the game...

I had a hard time fighting Omega in Final Fantasy V. He always used a move that removed a character from battle.
***** I think it was called Encircle on the ps1 version.
+TopCraft Films That's what I meant.
+TopCraft Films I hate that Omega just loved using that on my team mates.
The feature why Omega always really hard to beat is it's consecutive turn, though not as worst as Ozma, still force to be reckoned with
this one was actually easy, the f*cker of Omega MK.II on GBA was such a pain he and neo-shinryu
The description is wrong
Surge Cannon deals 50% of every character's max HP and inflicts sap
Arm does single-target damage equating to 50% of the target's current HP and will inflict Confuse if not immune to it
Gives new meaning to "superboss".
That clip at the end was messed up.
@Arceus187 In the Wii version, the attack is unnamed. It just looks like an explosion on all of your characters

@phuxeds excuse me but who do you think is the hardest boss on FF IV CC?
What floor is this battle
Fact: Using a reviving item such as a phoenix down will count as an ''attack'' to break the omeguard!

Literally shitting myself to focus on this superboss 😳 and Ahriman too 💀
Harder than the last boss
It's called Omega for a good reason.
a good tip to defeat omega is to ONLY use meteor, both with rydia or with dualcast palom...make the black mages attack, and other do the support work, limit ring and twin stars help a lot
this boss was bullshit. after emptying half my bags I oonly got a lousy medal? fuck that
Reflect DOES fall eventually, I know. Plus, he is all but immune to physicals.... The reflect trick is a good one.

I just defeated this ass today, damn, it took me about an hour, because I started in Waxing right after using a Cottage and ended in Waning Moon...
I got no idea how to beat him in final fantasy all the bravest
lol i just had golbez and rydia spam meteor with the others healing or tossing dry ethers. definitly harder then nova dragon (who only has one threatening attack) and ultima weapon (whos really just an easy version of omega)
I tried to beat beat omega with lvl character but EPIC FAIL XD
that omeguard is a real nuisance
what i do is use meteor with my black mages (golbez and rydia) cuz they go through reflect.
And Palom. He can use dual cast to do a double meteor.
Omega the best troll
The somewhat easier version of the FF5 boss
you might as well just give up if he did what he did to phuxeds
Definitely the hardest "boss" in the game. Secret/super boss was pathetic though.
this omega is nothing compared to the one in ff5
Yeah maybe all of the gamers know what's more horrible is the other version of it omega mk. II if i recall correctly it is in ff5 also
okay...besides the end part, this fight doesn't even look hard...just annoying as fuck. Far as I can tell, Nova Dragon is the hardest boss in the game...
