    That's really cool about the swappable saddles, Hipshot does similar with their KickAss bass bridge.
    Hipshot gives you the dimensions of their saddles in the user manual so you can fabricate your own from choice of stock, it has to be VERY easy to replace the Top Adjust saddle inserts with brass, etc. stock from a hobby shop or hardware store and basic tools.

    I love the TP-6 fine tuning tailpiece and have stockpiled a few that I've picked up over the years. Any guitar I have that has a stop bar tailpiece has a TP-6 instead. They are VERY underrated.

    • @ZombiedustXXX
      @ZombiedustXXX Год назад +2

      I like them best when paired with faster winding (lower ratio) tuning machines, so you get a new set of strings up to pitch faster, then the finer tuning with the TP-6 takes over. This is better than having just a set of monotonous 18:1 tuning machines to work with.

      I got an off brand one and a roller bridge for my SG. And I haven’t had to use it for fine tuning yet. As the other commenter said, is it because I also put some 1:21 ratio tuners on too?

    'The Wedge' is ultimately a Schaller '3-D' bass bridge with 'Gibson' engraving. I had one on an 80's Hamer bass, with 'Hamer' engraving, and it read 'Made In Germany' on the reverse 🙂

I paid for shipping and when I got it back fuse had been taken out.I put a new fuse in and its still working after 1 year. Anyway I never come out to the good with ebay, not when buying and not when selling. Reverb has always been fair with me, I have nothing to say about Reverb, its all good.

    Is there any bridge like the 3 point made today? I have a guitar with a Nashville style bridge where the saddles are almost all to the rear. It barely intonates as is but if I could knock the bass side back a notch it would help to get a little more adjustability.

    • @Trog
      @Trog  Год назад +1

      not that I'm aware of - but doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Might be able to get a shop to "drill" you a new location on the bottom of your bridge

    As far as I know, the 1982 Les Paul Customs came with the 3 post adjustment bridges (non top adjust). Mine did but unfortunately the bridge snapped in the middle due to string pressure over the years. I've been on the lookout for a replacement bridge to keep it original but I can never seem to find one unfortunately

    • @Trog
      @Trog  Год назад +1

      Yup, it turns out I had seen these before - but never BOTH at the same time so that is what caught me off guard haha. A good learning experience that "top adjust" refers to saddles and not adjusting your bridge's top mount location. 3 point is the correct term for those... even though technically they are both a type of "3 point bridge" haha

  • @Zundfolge

    Those bass bridges are basically Schaller bridges ... which are really the best bridges (built a couple of basses with those ... wish I still had the Fender Musicmaster short scale bass I had that was converted to fretless with one of those bridges ... dude I sold it to ended up refretting it which made me sad. The other bass I built with one was built around a Kramer aluminum neck ... basically the Travis Bean style aluminum neck ... also should never have sold it). The lesson here kids is to hoard like Trogly and never sell. :)

I didn't share the story, why let poopy stories follow an innocent guitar.
