She’s handling this awfully. What she did, she did as an Adult, not a confused Child. She knew exactly what she was doing. She’s covering her own back and not even considering how he must be feeling. If she could just accept that what she did has clearly had an impact on his life then she could help him feel a lot better. Maybe the void will never be fully filled but she could at least help him feel better about it. Things like this takes time, time to realise the reality. Help is always needed most when you feel like you’re alone. She needs to take responsibility because there is no excuse for it. She was an Adult when it was happening. That’s what makes it so bad, she knew right from wrong
