I remember when I first saw Wicked. I was in 3rd grade and as soon as the dragon came on I was scared to death and sat in my moms lap cause I was so scared. But it turns out that it was the best show I've ever seen.
Saw Wicked for the first time in June, and I was completely overwhelmed with the effects, the choreography, and everything in between. Absolutely amazing show.
A highlight of my life would be to get to work on the crew just once...

Basically, the dragon sort of moves its head and wings looks friggin' amazing when something scary or important happens. Also, sometimes the eyes glow red. The dragon adds a really majestic effect. @TheSuperheldo

Saw it in Des Moines, that dragon is so cool! Couldn't get over the special effects!
Wow. It's amazing to think that that whole dragon is only 5 lbs heavier than Elphaba's act 2 dress. This is why I love theatre!!
I love the Dragon, and I was shocked to find out it was made of foam rubber!

I love everything about Wicked! but one thing i love most is how everything in every show is the same down to the nuts and bolts! awesome!

Saw Wicked yesterday in London, and sadly the dragon was only half working... just the head moving from side to side and red eyes. The wings didn’t move at all and there was no smoke from its nose, a shame really
Incredible to hear how it was made. Only 40 pounds! Amazing. It looks so fantastic.
Mind blown moment when it's revealed to be only forty pounds for the entire dragon contraption. WHAT ARE THIS.
I LOVE the dragon
When the show was going to start, I knew me and my family would love it. So I was .ike "Brace your selves",but i had to. Man do i love the theme at the beginning but the dragon made my doby shake. I had to play it off cool like i saw the show before😅

When I saw this and when the dragon came alive, it scared the crap out of my sister.
I'm so curious how they're going to integrate the Clock of the Time Dragon into the movie(s)
I have loved the dragon since the first time saw it. And is there a dragon on tours.
The Time Dragon Clock is really only there as a cool set-piece to set the tone for the show and as a callback to the 1995 novel.
Is anyone able to explain to me the symbolism of the dragon in Wicked? I saw it back in February when it was touring in my city but could not figure out what the meaning of it was. If you can help clarify, I would be so appreciative! Much thanks. :)
In the book that Wicked is based off of, there is a chapter based on the dragon. That like in the video, it travels around from town to town. I’m assuming that they wanted to put that in the show, as a reference to the book.
@@emmagroatman4936 Elphaba is born inside the dragon too. She encounters it throughout the novel as well.

When I first saw this, I thought the dragon's head was gonna come off.
Luckily it didn't.

Can somebody tell me the actual use of the Dragon in the musical Wicked, when is it used, and with wich purpose?
The dragon doesn't really have a use in the show. Instead, the dragon itself is part of the scenery. As soon as you enter the theatre you see the stage, the map of Oz, and the dragon. I noticed that the time dragon only moves for the more scary parts of the play. It moves at the start of No One Mourns The Wicked, when Elphaba casts a spell on Nessa's wheelchair and when the tornado comes in act 2 after No Good Deed. Hope this helps :)
BigBadBread pretty much during intense scenes the dragon kind of goes crazy spewing smoke and it’s eyes glow red and it scares the shit out of you

it's sad that i'm looking at the dog instead of the other stuff and a big wicked fan...
Unfortunately when I saw the musical, I was seated in an awkward spot where it was almost impossible to catch a glimpse of the dragon.
