Thank you for doing this. Now a gift to you: trade those awful ear pads in for Sennheiser HD 414 pads. About $20, or they were. Beautiful yellow color and very comfortable. I've been doing this for years and have tried all of the Grado pads and always come back to the 414's.
My 325's need a new cable and your video is helpful. Thanks again. mt

Can you please share a link to the male/female MMCX parts that you used? Nice job!

Thanks for liking the video! Those connectors were bought from local vendors, but I guess they all come from aliexpress anyways.....
And also the female connector I'm using is a little too small imo, so I'll advice looking for ones with longer "tails" that you can solder onto. Try look for keyword "mmcx connector with nuts"

so why mmcx instead of something more conventional like 3.5mm? Are mmcx jacks just easier to solder?

The reason I chose mmcx is that many pre-built headphone cables are made with mmcx connectors, but it really depends on personal preferences. I'm just too lazy to convert cables that is already mmcx into other connectors :p
