Thanks to our great friend and mentor, Bryan Connelly, for sharing not only his airplane with us, but his time to help us make this video become a reality. Mudgy aircraft are unique and have always been something we've wanted to share with the RC community. For me personally, Bryan and the special airplanes he created truly are what sparked my interest in flying the way that I fly today. We hope you enjoy seeing one of Bryan's Mudgys fly just as much as I have fun flying her! -Zach

Happy Landings! Fly outside the box. 📦✈
Thanks for the comments! Mudgy 70 is a scratch-build that started out as a Sig Clipped Wing Cub Kit. For this reason, she is not available for sale.
Bryan’s words: “The structure of the fuselage is completely different [than the original kit], and a wing spar was eliminated. The only thing used [from] the [original] kit was the ribs and the plans to establish the outline of the airframe. Minimal bulkheads and stringers were used in comparison to other similar models as well."
Was that the front or rear main spar?
Being under 2 lbs at near 60 inch wingspan is unheard of! And yet it performs as well as it does, with the authority that is has. Man maybe I need to give stol another look
This plane is so cool, it can fly everywere 👍👍
Your videos reminds me of the surf film The Endless Summer which is great. Very nice to listen to and good editing makes it enjoyable.
Appreciate it! I’ll have to give that film a watch sometime. - Ben
I would love to see more on Bryan and his Mudgy's. The 70 is awesome! Light is right!
I agree. It is really cool.
This mans video quality 📈
Great airplane, flying, and video!👍👊
This channel deserves so many more subs
True
I need one of those!!!!
Really nice, great job. Good for when you want to fly, and you can fly almost anytime, anywhere. Great!
Love it. My kind of flying 👍👍😎🤘🤘
Mudgy HYPE!!!
You make it look so easy.....keep it up....
I'd watch a Mudgy mini documentary
the pilot got mad rc skill
SOUTHERN NH!!!! This is my place of dwelling also!! Why did it take this long to see this
I love this model! Get it in a nice stiff breeze and i bet it flies backwards well!
This plane inspired me to build a lightweight plane soon...
Fly outside the box fellow pilots
Amazing plane. I wish you can share some information on how to build one. But anyway you have a new subscriber..!!
I would also like to know some information on how to build one. The thing is crazy. It can fly everywhere!
Kind of reminds me of the birddog - only Cessna commissioned in Vietnam
I know you mean "only single-engine Cessna," as of course there was also the O-2 push me/pull you twin Cessna military version of the Skymaster.
Love this channel! Very cool plane, but what happens if there is wind, can you get it back on the ground?
Thanks! It has no issues in some wind...and it even makes it more fun because you can do true zero ground roll takeoffs and landings if the wind is strong enough. 😁 -Zach
Sounds like my PA-12 is about midway between the timber and the mudgie- 53” and about 44oz
That’s awesome! Do you have any videos of it flying? - Ben
@@TailHeavyProductions Thanks Ben, no videos as she is not quite finished yet. Due for a maiden in about two weeks though!
Bounce one on for us... hahaha LMAO!!
Guys wake up, THP just uploaded
if y`all sold a kit of this thing, even just parts and a manual, I`d buy it.
I’d also buy it. I love watching the mudgy fly.
Sold on your content and presentation.
the SeriousCub
Is it possible to buy this rc airplane or to get a build manual? I would really like to fly a rc plane like the mudgy 70.
Box outside of the fly boys
i bought the t28 1.1mm rc plane on ebay i can't wait till i get my trasmitter and the battery an the charger
Has no flaps so crazy
Don't need flaps to go slow when you build light!
Flyzone Beaver really living on through other models isn't it
Awesome looking and flying plane does Bryan sale this plane as a ARF or a kit??
She's a one-off unique model so not up for sale anywhere, but that's what makes her so unique! 😀
@@TailHeavyProductions That's too bad I would've loved to own one☹
I dont understand how you guys do this I have been scrapping RC helicopters, planes, cars, boats, literally rc everything for parts, I read that I need to buy a new transmitter and receiver regardless the age of parts that due to linking controls or something they said. But my main question is 1. how do I know if the transmitter is gonna fit 2. say if im working on an RC helicopter,im basically trying to repair an 8 year old heli that I lost on christmas cuz my dad wanted to fly it lol, how do I know if the transmitter has options for dual propeller? I am assuming there is a lot more reading into linking parts with one another but is there a RC kit builder thing to check compatibility kind of like those PC building websites but for RC things
📈🔥🔥💯
Where can I buy one any info nice f flying
Thanks! She's a one-off unique model so not up for sale anywhere, but that's what makes her so unique! 😀
Stall stol
What was left out to save weight

@@TailHeavyProductions That’s awesome, great video! I can’t wait for the next one!
Pat’s custom models has some really light weight designs and short kits that might be modified for STOL.
I do like the video and will give it a thumbs up - but as soon as you say 35 ounces you alienate European viewers. Ironically 35 oz is 1 kg. Great bit of aeromodelling design development. Evolution, not revolution every time.
