I just got my molds today and after watching you, I’m thinking of using the pipettes my set came with to fill that tip to try to eliminate as much air as possible. Hadn’t even thought of dried flowers! I have some super tiny ones that I’ve been saving for when an idea hit me, and I think this might be it! Thanks for the inspiration! 🥰
Well! I wasn't interested in trying anything with pens before, thinking they all required much grinding and such. This is very cool! And perfect for Santa stocking suffers or small appreciation gifting!
Steve, I just love your videos! I do a lot of resin art and I enjoy seeing how excited you get with your projects just like me. Thanks for always being so delightful in your videos!
Hi Steve, love your work. As far as the pens are concerned, it might be worth mentioning that if the back of the pen doesn’t get exposed to air the ink will stop flowing after a very short time. I made this pen and this happened to me. I drilled a small hole to stop the vacuum that gets created when the refill is completely covered and now it writes perfectly again.
@@nechellewilliams9274 Because I could see the end of the refill, I just drilled from the end straight into where the end of the refill is. Hope that makes sense.
Same is happening to me, but I can’t see the end of the refill so am afraid to drill too much. What if I insert a needle on the outside of the mold, pour and remove? Really want these to work!
loved the flower petal idea - never thought of that. I have made a fair few using these moulds - the only thing I dislike is the flat side ( bit ocd with pens, and cant get to grips with a flat side lo, ) having said that, they have been pretty popular sellers. I always test the ink first before I insert it because I had a few that didnt work , and only found out when I had made the pen lol
It may not have been the ink cartridge that didn't work my first batch of pens didn't work because the pen cartridge slipped and the hole at the top got blocked with resin now I always make sure to stick a needle/pin down the hole to make sure it's unblocked
These are so cool. They will be wonderful gifts for teachers and just everyone I mean who doesn't use pens? And unique pretty ones at that. What a great idea. Thank you Stephen 👍
Steve, I just wanted to thank you for the video on how to protect paper for a resin pour. I am making my first tray and I want to use vintage paper on it. The video explained which method worked best. I am going to use modpodge. Thanks again and keep those videos coming.
Thank you for posting this video! I just got my pens today (Sunday) 1/17/21 from Amazon! I'm SO excited to try this, and definitely want to sell them, once I make them!
Thank you so much for showing this video. You truly have been a lifesaver for me. I recently subscribed to your channel and love your videos. Thank you! I hope you make more resin videos as they are very helpful to me. Have a very blessed day!
Thank you so much for the tutorial! I just bought the same ones from your video and I am going to try them today. Your tips were brilliant! Thank you! I just subscribed to your channel. I can't wait to watch more of your work.
Very pretty I'm a new follower from a few days ago like very much watching you do your stuff very helpful especially using a plastic stick instead of a popsicle stick I just got silicone sticks can't wait to try them I'll certainly go look at your previous videos keep up the good work !!
I ordered just one of these molds and got it the other day. I believe it was the one that you made with glitter. I filled it all the way up level and the next day I pulled it out and filling it up level was too much because it was wonky. I took the scissors and clipped the extra resin off and now I need to sand it.
I would love to draw with those pen is awesome I thought maybe if you were to spray release spray on the Inkheart when you run out of ink you would be able to pull it out and replace it with a new one just a thought flower ones very cool I think it'd be really awesome with the flowers and some tiny cogs and gears floating around in there with the flowers😀 have a happy healthy safe day Steve
Just came here to say this. I follow a “resin channel” kinda similar to 5 min crafts and they always make pens with empty tubes and they make them in a way you can replace the ink. That would be the only thing stopping me from making these is if you can’t replace the ink.
Wow they turned out better than i thought! I wonder if there are pen moulds that can be used to create pen caps for these shape of pens so that the ink refill doesn't dry out?
So many double entendres. 😂 Definitely one of you most informative and funniest videos. Thanks for all of your videos. I'm just getting ready to begin trying to do some resin work, so your videos are a god send.
I was so glad of my bixby on my phone when the refills came with the colours in Chinese ;) I wasn't going to buy these as they are "single use" but when I saw the one where you used pens inside I bought some :)
Thanks for doing these! I have a couple questions please. I’m curious what the top (fill) side looks like? Are they flattened? You very briefly showed them by accident and it looked like they were flat with some of the pen showing. Any way to dome them maybe and even out that fill side with the rest of the pen? These are intriguing though. I’d never known they were even out there as a mold. I make glass beads that go on premade pens that are designed for the beads but they come out pretty bulky and heavy. These would be faster and cheaper to make and sell.
I'm a newbie with resin crafting and the pens are the first thing that I made and I'm not really for the flat side, I felt like they were unfinished. Also does anyone know if there are any other inserts (ink) that fit in the molds because most of mine are dry (?) I love a good flow of ink when writing.... also I think my molds are slightly different. TIA!! Steve, Thank you for your videos...I would love to be able to join but disability income just isn't enough But I continue to watch as you're a great teacher!!
Hi Steve! I just started using epoxy resin and love working with it. I have this pen set, and the ink comes in red, blue and black. The only thing I really didn't like about them is that, as you can see, the tops are flat and a bit rough and uncomfortable in your hand. I thought I did something wrong, but I can see that yours came out the same way. I was hoping for an idea to make the whole pen round, but I'm guessing the mold is the mold and there's nothing to be done? Thanks. I can't wait for more videos!
I’m a little ocd in that I like my pens round; but I guess if I’m going to make these I’ll have to accept that they’re going to have a flat side. 😣 I’ve also used the tiny, oblong candy and confetti candy cupcake sprinkles with success as well. But my all-time favorite is the black Mica pigment with gold glitter or gold flake ones. They are absolutely beautiful. Thanks for this video.
I slowly pour to the deep end and that helps het bubbles out . One of them I actually trimmed the mold to make it easier for me to get to the bubbles. I like them but they are disposable . I don’t think you can change out the ink. So that made them meh to me.
Hi, I just received these for Xmas , and your video is the 1st one I watched for a tutorial. Any tips for a lid for the pens to stop the ink drying out. Thanks JoJo 😗💕
Cool! I had these molds lying around for a while now but didn´t use them until now. I want to do some with the feathers of my chickens. But I have one question: could I make the pens reusable if I spray the filling with mold release? That would be really great!
Bought the moulds with the refills but the refills seem to small for the mould as the resin covers the tip quiet a bit 😢 what are the length of thw refills that you are using ?
What do you do about the edges that were on top, where you pour in the resin? It leaves a well. Do you fill that or just leave it like that? TIA LOVE all your videos, Thank you for teaching us..
They write lovely and your penmanship is lovely as well. I love the pens! I’m going to try it! Thank you! Could you tell me where I could buy that exact set of molds you have? Thanks!
It was a great video, but I do have 1 question? The eigen where you put the resin in do you do anything with that. I have the mold and used them but I don´t like the edge
I guess people should support him more because he understands everyone's struggle and does it in a easy way love the pen definitely gonna try it
That dried flower one is amazing! They all look great! I’m a sucker for stationery

Well! I wasn't interested in trying anything with pens before, thinking they all required much grinding and such. This is very cool! And perfect for Santa stocking suffers or small appreciation gifting!
I’ve made loads of these. As you did, I tipped the resin to the nib end first. Then just used sandpaper on sharp edges caused by sequins
I’ve been making resin pens for a bit. I have learned from your video how to prevent air bubbles. Thank you 😊

I have just purchased these molds, and resin, and some paint, but wasn't sure how to use them, thanks to your video, i will be trying them this wknd.

ok just put these on my wish list and extra refills too love the way this turned out too
Thank you! I'm trying this now 🤞
Very nice. I love the shape of the flower pen. I would use that one. I don’t care for the skinny pens they’re harder to use for me.
I just got these molds and can't wait to make pens.
Once again you have made stunning pieces

but does the refill come out if and when the ink runs out?
