I love the idea for the marathon. I think the biggest hurdle you'd have, is that you have to condition yourself to running with the backpack, so it doesn't throw you off. But also, the question is, would they allow you to run with the backpack? I'm rooting for ya though Pete!
Hi m8! What do you reccomend for data plans for UK residents? 300 bucks from unlimited irl a month seems a bit over the top. Could you reccomend anything for someone streaming IRL solely around UK?
If you are going to use it loads then get a contract. If you buy from Garland the liveu they have a data plan on a steered sim so picks the strongest network and they charge £6 per 1gb data but you can add multiple sims so that’s across all sims. Can be pricey if doing it lots though but benefit is no contract
Great video, thank you. You failed to mention though that the connection bonding feature of the LiveU Solo is a paid subscription-based service. The hardware itself is not self-sufficient.
IRL streaming has been super overwhelming to learn about.. Been streaming on twitch for 3 years now and ready to change things up, but every time I say I'm going to IRL stream, I give up because it feels like SO MUCH. Grateful to have someone break everything down for me.. Been trying to rent from UnlimitedIRL for a few weeks as I have an upcoming trip abroad but it turns out they took a bit of a hit from COVID. Getting someone on the phone to answer questions like these has been difficult to say the least. I have a friend who has a backpack near me, but I still need to put together data/modem and setup my own camera. Hoping I can get the NETGEAR Nighthawk and talk to T-mobile about covering me in more rural parts of Jamaica. Thank you again for your helpful info.
I have an Question, when I buy an Live u Solo do I need to buy the Software also ? Because I saw in the Internet that the Company sells an subscrition Software.
Live U solo doesn't support HEVC encoding, you actually could run GoPro Hero 7 which supports HEVC and has decent quality + image stabilization and use your Phone as LTE antenna to transmit your stream to your server. Much better option in my opinion.
@@Slippery_Si Yes, it should be. It goes like this: GoPro + Phone LTE > rtmp nginx server > OBS / SLobs > twitch/youtube/etc... (rtmp nginx server can be run localy on the same PC)
I’m considering this IRL setup for my students to cover events at school. But, it’s expensive! We’re gonna need to get some sponsorships with local businesses. :)
I only have one question, is there a way to blur ones face will live streaming IRL style and any other ways one would live stream? If yes, how or whats best tool to do this
Watching this in 2023, and it's impressive that LiveU is still a thing, and I didn't know that's how some people were doing their run and gun IRL streams. The one I remember as probably the best, was the SlingStudio. I used it once, and it was really cool that you could use multiple HDMI sources, you could buy wireless HDMI adapters so your extra cameras didn't have to be wired to the unit, and could also use another iPhone as a camera source. It only lacked the connection redundancy of LiveU, but it still had a lot going for it. Sadly, I don't think you can find it for sale anymore, not new at least. I do know a camera rental service that does have it, that's how I got to use one.
do you stream gameplay on obs studio or streamlabs obs? and can you help me get better quality pn stream, i have a good pc intel i5 8th gen 1070 oc edition i have good fps but bad quality on 720p
If I wanted to record but not livestream with my cell phone, is there such thing as an external device that will save the recording as i'm walking about (for example) instead of my cell phone?
the live u solo need 12v - 3A and not 2.1 or 2.5A so care when u will buy a new external battery. i use the AC power with my omars battery but not a good idea.
I’ve worked in ENG (electronic news gathering) in extreme weather situations and I can honestly say that LiveU is shaky as as far as reliability. Ymmv as far as irl in populated areas with strong cell signal but even in unaffected areas before and after the storms it was hit or miss as far as connectivity.
Looking at Jake's setup and I'm looking for the exact same selfie stick with the phone attachment and then I can attach my go pro on it but I can't seem to find it at all. Can someone help me
Not every camera works with LiveU. Several cameras' viewfinders turn off when connecting with the LiveU. Also, LiveU Solo option doesn't offer phone support and they blame everything on "firmware updates".
Hi Gaming Careers, Quick question can you stream to multi-social media sites at once example FB, Twitter, RUclips without using things like restream but just using the USOLO? Truly appreciate your input thanks Gary
hello very nice video but how i public a videos after i just streamed it i mean that video to can be see under the home tab i ask you this bcs i can see the video i streamed only when i click to content i go to live and then i see my video also my video is set to public visability ... thanks in advance
Thank you for the information o that video. Very useful although I think everything has change during this time. What about the marathon project. Have you any video to se the result? Thank you again :/)
This video helped thanks., I have only one question regarding the live u solo, you said it can take up to four methods of uploading data, would it not be more cost-effective ( and lighter) to use a dedicated mobile phone with dual sim and wi-fi (if available)
Pretty good explaination thanks for it. I got a question. Is there a solution when u want to start stream to use a cam on your should which is connected to you mobile phone? The mic from the mobile phone should be enoug for first right? Because what i want to do in RL it's not possible to do with just 1 hand and also my wrists are hurting alot after a while. So i have to find a cheap starter way to get a view for my viewers and a possibility to read the messages on stream. Thanks in advance Stefan
I have a client really taking off on the IRL live stream. We are seeing other similar streamers appear to have someone like me (techie, producer, clip editor, overlay designer) working from a remote location to do more than chat modding but actually changing overlays live, changing scenes remotely, etc. As an example, one streamer we watched has a "technical difficulties" overlay that their mod (producer?) places on the stream when signal issues occur out and about, and start a 30 second ad for non-followers. I have been told by my client that I am the Jamie to his Rogan, the producer in the background making everything work smoothly, but i'm finding it extremely hard to find resources for this (or even what to call myself as a back end real time executor of his stream functions while he is out and about creating content. Please any tips or pointing in a direction that could be helpful would be very appreciated
live streaming accessories are pretty expensive, can i buy just only one piece..Live solo only, sony camera im not interested because i have iphone 12 and canon camera
Does the StreamElements mobile app do facecam with screen capture like RUclips gaming live mobile app? I swear by Streamlabs mobile app for streaming IRL to Twitch but it seems like they only offer selfie mode OR screencap. Thx in advance for any insight.
i want to use samsung s7 and i need be able to streaming irl 14 days in japan non stop in any advice for power banks that will last more than 30 hours? i plan to buy 4 powerbanks btw i dont care for audiences i just want to stream 14 days non stop
Great video. I stream my DJ sets on Twitch using my Android phone as the camera and USB audio input for the audio. The main issue I have is the autofocus - I hate it being on. Can an app turn it off? Secondly, I find I can add extra tags in the IRL set up. Even if I set it up on the desktop prior to going live, it doesn't show these tags when live. Frustrating.
When you livestream with the Sony, do you set the mode to "live" or "movie". I just got one and live mode eliminates all control of image quality. I plan to use it via an atem switcher. So do I just set the HDMI out put and put it in live mode and press record. Or does movie mode work? Thanks.
I know this video is a couple years old, thinking of making of of these irl backpacks. You explained everything just fine, but that sony bullet cam is no longer available on amazon, and only seen used ones on ebay. Is there an upgraded version of the camera now? Or just another camera that has come out that may be better?
Should do 2024 update
Yes pls

Giffgaff unlimited data, £35 a month
Great video, thank you. You failed to mention though that the connection bonding feature of the LiveU Solo is a paid subscription-based service. The hardware itself is not self-sufficient.
Thank you for the detailed explanation!

I’m looking to get into streaming this year. Thank you for the detailed explanation.
So did you?
This video answered all my questions about irl streaming...thank you so much for making and uploading it!!!!
Your videos always help out
Was gonna try one, but every irl streamer i see has their liveu or modem breaking or resetting weekly or even more frequent.
Really? Is it from wear and tear from field use? What do you mean the liveu's are breaking?
Mauronic100 they overheat or dc from their connected settings from what i heard
I have a very rugged streamer if you ever want to discuss. Solid case and no overheating problems.
Really love the video. Very technical but not technical jargon makes it really easy to understand. Thank you!
When you go directly live from live u to twitch, u wont have any overlays/alerts and no TTS (donations) going on
Too bad they turned the great name IRL to the horrid "Just Chatting" Sounds like your Aunt Fannies tea.
I know.. & why can't we add whatever tags we want like RUclips? I prefer Twitch for live but those tags 😂
Twitch has Travel and Outdoors but very few IRL pro streamers or just small IRL streamers using it.
IRL is Ice Poseidon's brainchild.
IRL is now Travel & Outdoors!
This video is so in depth i had to keep skipping forward. Props to you
Can you do a video for road trips? What’s the best equipment and/or best way to live stream while driving (camera facing the road with TTS activated).
I have an Question, when I buy an Live u Solo do I need to buy the Software also ? Because I saw in the Internet that the Company sells an subscrition Software.
Can you make a video on who to stream with a dual pc setup
Stream whoever you want
Live U solo doesn't support HEVC encoding, you actually could run GoPro Hero 7 which supports HEVC and has decent quality + image stabilization and use your Phone as LTE antenna to transmit your stream to your server. Much better option in my opinion.
Timmy111888 interesting idea, would this setup be comparable with Streamlabs?
@@Slippery_Si Yes, it should be. It goes like this: GoPro + Phone LTE > rtmp nginx server > OBS / SLobs > twitch/youtube/etc... (rtmp nginx server can be run localy on the same PC)
You did a great job. Thanks for all your effort. GREAT info
This was super helpful! Trying to do some hiking streams and have been having so much trouble with signal on my phone.
One thing I want to know is how do you get your obs scenes and alerts during your stream.
Great video. You answered every question I had :)
I’m considering this IRL setup for my students to cover events at school. But, it’s expensive! We’re gonna need to get some sponsorships with local businesses. :)
Thanks for the informative video. I also really like your idea of live streaming your training and the actual marathon! Good luck =)
I only have one question, is there a way to blur ones face will live streaming IRL style and any other ways one would live stream? If yes, how or whats best tool to do this
This was truly helpful, thank you so much!
If you just want to record for personal use, could i get away with just the camera and battery?
How much is the service though
Thank you for the price breakdown I've been thinking about a mobile stream setup for a while and was always curious how the pricing for this worked.
5G will change outdoor livestreaming
not really 5g range sucks so its only gonna be in big citys
sweg lord its in big cities for testing but it is going to be everywhere
@@aqxuire no it wont

Do you think one could still do this or is it too late. asking for a friend. IRL sounds fun
Thank you for the great video this helped a lot! :)
Ok one question. How To Setup A Irl Stream With TTS?😔with iPhone or stream backpack???
do you stream gameplay on obs studio or streamlabs obs?
and can you help me get better quality pn stream, i have a good pc
intel i5 8th gen
1070 oc edition
i have good fps but bad quality on 720p
Really enjoyed the video but wondering about building a portable desktop to take to events with built in video capture cards. Any advice?
Thank you for a thorough and interesting video🙏🏻
Can A LiveU Solo replace a capture card, or do I need both?
pretty sure the liveu solo contains a capture card
If I wanted to record but not livestream with my cell phone, is there such thing as an external device that will save the recording as i'm walking about (for example) instead of my cell phone?
He returns with a new video! Missed you @gamingcareers. Always love your videos!

You've covered everything. Thank you for this vid.

He doin the stanky leg but with his thumb
Could you test this setup with a insta360 go 3 ?
Awesome video! Are those modems locked? I’m in Kenya and would really appreciate to know if I could use the kit. Thx
Looking at Jake's setup and I'm looking for the exact same selfie stick with the phone attachment and then I can attach my go pro on it but I can't seem to find it at all. Can someone help me
Hey so how do you get alerts and stuff on the irl backpack
I was looking for a low-cost setup.
Is it possible to connect my webcam or an old version of GoPro to do it with my smartphone?
Wow I have a whole new level of respect to lover streamers I watch all most every day
Brilliant video althiough links for the white USB miodens dont seem to be on the list...

Would any of this stuff break from say lots of hard movement, like jumping off a rock, or racing around off road on a dirtbike? or MTB?
Premix Utah you might want to put some padding in between the hardware, but the equipment itself shouldn’t break
thanks for the video! Where did you buy your Huawei modems and how much were they?
thanks so much bro !!!! great content !

What is the selfie stick Jake is using at 13:49 called? PLEASE I NEED YOUR HELP!
Excellent presentation of your live broadcast streaming tools need to getting started in a pro level of using an IRL kit.
Whats another option if youre not able to buy the liveu?
This video helped thanks., I have only one question regarding the live u solo, you said it can take up to four methods of uploading data, would it not be more cost-effective ( and lighter) to use a dedicated mobile phone with dual sim and wi-fi (if available)

Do I need an app?
what hotspot modems you recommend? and what data service you use? a cheaper modem service
I just want to live stream my mountain hikes without dropping connections, any tips
I freak'n love your videos! Thank you dude

honestly expected the streamer kit to be way more expensive. Upfront cost is pretty much the price of a pc. Not bad
can you make a video on how to have an overlay with liveu solo?
sony zv e10 work with solou?
Since this is quite expensive. Could you cancel your cell phone service and simply use this since you'd basically have service and save a bill?
great video, thanks for that!
