Had one of these as a courtesy car whilst my M2C had a health check and whilst admit these are totally different machines, comparing this to a previous M140 I had, would trade in for the newer M135. Totally without feel, synthetic and dull, the Z generation will love it! Was pleased to get back in a proper car (M2C) the following day but makes the M140 seem really special!
That sounds itself is really good, but its kinda too loud imo I wouldn’t mind it myself but i don’t want to annoy other drivers and pedestrians. People like the owner who drive very loud cars are the reason we have so many quiet cars now.
@@mrrolex1364 i agree for a lambo or Ferrari or mclaren. As long as the valves are closed in cities and residential areas then im totally ok with that. Also loud doesnt equal good sounding. Just my two cents.

@@D1STUR8 What kind of problems? I've only had my F20 M135i for 2 years, (currently sitting at 108K on the clock) but its been awesome! Lots of fun and has been very reliable so far. Very easy to tune aswell, 310kw/560nm of torque
@@spookyreaper1702 He is one of those guys that probably do an oil change every 30k KMs and no other maintenances, pull up to 7k RPM right off a cold start and of course got a Stage 2 tune on it with all stock internals. And then they call BMWs unreliable. I personally have an N20 engine, which is super notorious and got no problems with it even Stage1 runs fine if you maintain and treat your car properly.
This is my car, I haven't dyno'd this one yet but I thought somebody said not to redline it and shift between 6000-6200, but I got slower 100 200s with manual. Would be good to dyno the car to see the optimal shift points though
Here we go again....as per usual ^^. It's as fast, maybe even a bit slower than a stock Golf 8R Performance with 333HP. The 8R Performance or 8.5R is just amazing, honestly. It can keep up with tuned cars, it's as fast as the Emira with 365HP. So...something is going on with all these "tunings".
The car was running stock 13.5 seconds numbers 100 200, im not sure why you're comparing it with a different platform with better tuning capabilities as well, shaving off 2 seconds on a 100 200 is pretty good for a stage 2 tune. And we all know this platform isn't easy tuneable like the golf 8r etc since the m135i f40 is quite pushed from factory. If you compare the stock car with the tuned car it's a night and day difference and that's what matters the most, but it seems alot of people are forgetting that

all the F20 M140i owners here who are badmouthing the car and talking about it even though they themselves have to admit that this car looks a lot better than its predecessor. If the 140 is so much better, why do I hardly ever see them on the road?
This car sucks but it does look better stock. The 140i looks no different from a 120d 😂but once you get new rims bumpers and side skirt 140i is better looking than this

They start to block ecu from june 2020. Everything before every tuner can chip it. After block you need to send your ecu to Femto in Finland to unlock it and then you can tune it.
Can't be, it's an electronic handbrake... That exclamation mark symbol also comes up for other things. On my E92 I have it because it thinks brake pads are worn (sensor is disconnected).

BMWs m135i and m140i were the only straight six rwd hot hatches you could get and thats what separated them from the norm and why people bought them. Same as with the new C63, forgoeing the thing that made them special and now nobody buys them, just like the new m135i

Also, I know the video shows 4.4 launches, but when I do a proper launch it's 4.17 seconds corrected, a number which the stock m140i also doesn't touch. Another note is that the launch control on this car is bugged due to a gearbox tune and is not reaching 3k rpm, so less max torque for launch. Car stock numbers 100 200 is about 13.8 so I shaved off 2 seconds and something 🤷

The M140i xDrive on average needs 11.7-11.8 seconds. So let‘s say they are roughly equally fast, what makes sense since the stock B58 makes around 360hp to the crank.
my runs I'm getting on average are 11.6 The run corrected best I got was 11.5 The best runs on an M140ix is still low 12s. I can show you a history of my racebox 100 200 which is also a bit more accurate than dragy and it will always show sub 12 second numbers. There's no way the m140ix numbers are the same as 100 200 rwd m140i. The 128ti does 10.7 seconds on average with the same tune because it's fwd and less drive drivertrain loss.
M135i F40 is such an underrated car. Even stock a fast car and with tuning it can be a beast. I have driven many of them and I‘m impressed.

I’ve had a base 140i shadow 140i 240i and m2 with the n55 all tuned and no problems
