Thank you Fr. Meeks. My prayer is that everyone will listen, understand, and become closer to Jesus. @@tony1685 Hi Tony. You keep on about the sabbath (not to work etc Exodus 20 8:11) Have you ever thought that sometimes people take actions with the ‘intent’ of their actions not to be ‘work’. I sometimes tidy my garden to offer my actions in glorifying ALL the beautiful flora and fauna God has created for us. I don’t see it as work. Maybe you could focus on love. Love of neighbour, self and most of all, the love of God and Jesus to us.
Thank you, Fr. Meeks. Thank you for the time you spend in prayer and study as you prepare the homily. Thank you for listening to promptings of the Holy Spirit. Thank you for your obedience to Jesus and for your faithfulness. Our priest today was from Vietnam. I tried to hear him but he is very soft spoken and my ears were filled with fluid post virus. Your homily has blessed me. I hope to remain on the narrow way and meet you one day in heaven. 🙏🙏🙏
If the Apostles thought like that after Judas' betrayal, there would be no Church. Research all the heresies the Church fought against over the last 2000 years and you will realize this is nothing new. Jesus said the gates of hell will not prevail. Do not doubt it. The attacks on the Catholic Church reveal that it is the one, true, Church of Jesus Christ. I recently asked Jesus, in prayer before the Blessed Sacrament, why He allows such wickedness. He moved my heart to the Parable of the weeds and the wheat. If He pulls out the wicked, He might uproot those who are misguided today, but will eventually repent. I was one of the misguided who repented. Read the lives of the saints and you will recognize the repentant sinners. Peace to you.
Let's all pray for Fr. Meeks, a man of courage and truth! God Bless you Fr. Meeks! Thank you for your words of wisdom! We live in a world hostile to our faith...be strong in our Lord Jesus Christ!
Thank you, Fr. Meeks for such an anointed homily. I pray for your protection and continued ability to speak the truth of the Good News for the sake of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Unfortunately, I have to go to RUclips to hear sincere and effective homilies like this. I wish all priests were inspired messengers of the faith like this. Many, however, approach the homily like a chore to run out the clock.

This priest has an unbelievable insight into the everyday meaning of God's scriptures. One of the greatest Catholic preachers I have ever heard. He is inspired by a greater being. Definitely. He is living it every day.
Father Meeks, thanks be to the Lord for good shepherds like you who speak the truth through the Holy Spirit in a time when this world so desperately needs to hear it. The Holy Spirit put it in my heart to send this homily out to others and I hope and pray that everyone would listen, watch, and pray for their walk with Christ to deepen.
Thanks from Spain. Most priests here don't preach on week days, just on Sundays. Multitudes sit at church any given day, for a funeral or something, and they may not hear any words addressed to them for their salvation. No wonder apostasy in Europe is rampant. Faith comes from listening to the Word of God. No doubt He will reward Fr Meeks abundantly.
Thank you father for this homily , so true and so holy , God bless you father for teaching us the truth of our lord , I pray God mercy that I never hear the words , I don’t know you , depart from me , but how my soul long to hear Jesus say to me , welcome to my kingdom , faithful servant , my only goal in life is to have eternal life with Jesus . ❤️🙏
Fr Meeks has the insights of someone who did not grow up in the Catholic faith. Only a bible reading Christian can gain such knowledge and understanding of the true word of Jesus. I speak as one who was raised a Catholic and only picked up a Bible in the past five years. For me this was life changing.
It is so sad that so many Catholics do not understand that the Mass readings come from the Bible and that they are supposed to themselves deepen the knowledge of the material they are exposed to by going to the source, the Bible!
Wow, Father Meeks you are truly an amazing priest. You should teach courses to priest on how to give a great homily: to the point; great references; clear examples; relate to the (audience)parishioners; a sense of humor; etc. You are the best.

The reason it has become hard to define what the wide gate means is because there are too many definitions now only on what the narrow gate is supposed to look like some day. When Christian love starts to grow cold it is because what we treasure has changed too and then that shrinking over time place is where our hearts end up. Like when trusting only in gold and in recognition only from the secular world more and more. Is it only me who is starting to wonder if the most common form of concentration camp now is being homeless with a cell phone and a passport maybe. While often when using a library computer when needing a new prescription for your eye glasses often having to see ads about memory loss and tingly sensations in your feet and hands too. While say being a high school student wearing only flip flops in the winter among other students of similar age dressed warm in a very cold climate for awhile before age 18. When being told they have to learn 2 languages now in only 1 year while they are continuing to finish high school.
At 6:49 he refers to "capitulating to things like Wokeness", seeming to suggest that awareness of social injustices such as racism (which is what Wokeness originally meant) somehow represents an erosion of Christian moral authority. A bit confusing. He's correct in his position that it undercuts the Gospel message when Church leaders appear to both condemn and in some ways also accept actions contrary to Christian morality. 2 Timothy 4:2. Christians should expect to have to go against the grain, culturally speaking. In a secular society this might happen frequently. Consumerism, nationalism, environmental irresponsibility, social injustices; these are all features of modern societies in regard to which the message of the Gospel is counter-cultural. His comments about the article that appeared in the Atlantic Monthly (17:00 and following) are inaccurate, leading me to wonder whether he really read the article or was simply offended at its original title (later amended by the editors of the Atlantic Monthly). The article actually warns that extremists are beginning to improperly make use of religious symbols such as the Rosary as a way of disguising an agenda that is actually contrary to the message of the Gospel. It's an old trick that extremists have used before as a way of lending an air of moral legitimacy to a fundamentally immoral agenda. The KKK's use of the symbol of the Cross is a vivid example.
Wokeness has a WHOLE LOT more to do with than just racism. If you don’t know what they are , then you do not understand the term WOKE in today’s world. It definitely opposes the teachings of the Catholic Church.

Blame that on television, since color was added to tv. Ask yourself, would any of that happened? If tv stayed black and white and silenced. 1940's
