I would have done the same thing with the multiple fuse delete. On my 900 watt Power Bright inverter it has 3 external Blade fuses with weather proof covers on one end of it.

@@GoingOffGrid101 A few days ago Right after I hooked the cables of the 900w Power Bright inverter to a brand new Watt cycle 50ah battery the positive terminal on battery sparked then soon after that the inverter (which was turned off) made a loud pop & smoke started rolling out of it.
I checked all 3 inverter fuses & they were not blown.
I purchased this inverter 15 years ago brand new but never used it.
I'm thinking a Capacitor blew going to take it apart & have a look, if that's all it is then easy fix.
Glad you got yours going again.
      👍👍

@@GoingOffGrid101 I'll tear into it next week & let you know what I find, today I installed my first two 100 watt Dokio bifacial panels on the garage roof. I made a sandblock resistor jumper for the new inverter. This is my first off grid system.

Glad I'm not the only one that's destroyed equipment doing something careless. haha At least this can be repaired. I destroyed 2 Victron charge controllers do to over voltage input on the solar input side. They are totally sealed up tight. They make them so they can't be repaired. (Love your beeper delete mod. haha)

Should we buy huge diodes to prevent wrong polarization? I think I"ll consider that in the future.

    • @GoingOffGrid101
      @GoingOffGrid101  3 года назад

      they are very expensive!

@@GoingOffGrid101 I've purchased 200 ampere ones for a plating facility and they're about $30 each so $60 for both sides. I'm impressed that you can open it up and replace mosfets and soldered fuses. That stuff isn't for the squeamish but the way things are going with infrastructure utilities it might be a good idea that we know how t to repair the big inverters.

@@charlestatakis9363 thats not bad if your running at 48v but at 12v the extra voltage drop from the diode might be to much, might have to test that lol

Bummer something we all have done at one time or another. Those Anderson plugs are the best for quick connects.

    Hello,
I've got Powerdrive 3000w that only puts out about 80 wats before starts beeping and displaying overload.
Any idea what could be the problem?
    Thanks in advance.

did you overload it once if so check the fuse on inside first but be careful, leave the unit on and disconnected for a few house first.
