  • In this video, we will discuss the fifth example of a MOSFET differential amplifier using two n-channel MOSFETs. In this example, differential amplifier is biased using a cascode current source constructed by only MOSFETs (five in total). Therefore, this current source does not use any resistors to create the reference current, which was the case in the previous examples. This current source configuration is better than simple current mirror.
    Given the circuit component values, we will calculate the balanced differential-mode voltage gain and balanced common-mode voltage gain. We also verify our calculations using simulations in TINA-TI SPICE.
