Alejandro Fuentes (the guy with raspy voice) is a Chilean/Norwegian musician and songwriter. He came in third place when he participated in Idol 2005.
Yes, Kurt absolutely have a greate country voice. But you should hear him singing christmas songs 🤩 That's really what he is most popular at. He's kind of one of our christmas kings now a days 🥰
I've been both to Leonard Cohen concert and heard him preform this song. And to a concert with this 4 guys and heard them preform it. And one should think that the orginal would get the most excited audience when preforming such a mega hit. But actually this 4 guys had a more excited audience!
Fun fact: Askil Holm was an artist before this collaboration. His song "Seven Days in the Sun" written in 2002 was used in the movie "Agent Cody Banks" in 2003.
They are called the "new guitar buddies" bacause there was a similar Norwegian supergroup in the early 90s of Norway's four biggest singer song writers singing and playing guitar. Hallelujah is a song by Leonard Cohen who at this point in time had become very famous in a version by Jeff Buckley. These guys are doing our local version... The song is not about religion, but about love. Very beautiful lyrics.
Kurt Nilsen has a country album and a duett with Willie Nelson: no.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rise_to_the_Occasion
Beautiful! Out of this world ♥
I was at a concert vallehall arena was amazing 2006❤❤❤❤❤
I wonder if other nationalities can hear the difference in their speach, since they are from different parts of Norway and got quite different dialects. Alejandro, I doubt you know him from somewhere. He's been kind of under the radar the last years (shame as that voice is SOO good!!). Kurt (ginger -blond guy) is the most famous/successful. He won world Idol over Kelly Clarkson!
Yes! Kurt Nilsens voice fits country music. Have you heard his duett with Willy Nelson?
Kurt Nilsens voice fits anything except opera. But it is almost sacrilige to use a voice that good for Country. I am sorry, i am not a big fan of country. I can listen to it, but it gives me nothing. Except for Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Dolly Parton, and Garth Brooks.
NICE.🤗
Check out Kurt Nilsen and Willie Nelson's Lost Highway. The one you said would sing country.
The show Skavland was a collaboration between Norwegian and Swedish tv. So you can combine the population of both countries that is ca 16 millions.
*is. I'm pretty sure the show is still running, but with a different host.
@ yes, there is a woman named Bianca Walhgren that has taken over. The former host, Fredrik Skavland, was famous for speaking a hybrid of Norwegian and Swedish, to make it easier for the swedish watchers to understand.
Is it not Carina Bergfeldt?@@kmhob
@ Its right in one sense that Carina Bergfeldt is the new ‘friday evening talkshow host’, but Bianca Ingrosso (wahlgren) is also a sort of successor, since both of the new shows are produced by Skavlands company Monkberry. So, you can say that they both are.
Nilsen has made a song together with Willie Nelson
Next up : Hallelujah-kameratene 😁
The song has biblical references. Cohen mentions King David directly and there are indirect references to Bathsheba, Samson, Delilah and even God ("the name"/"the holy"). All of the aforementioned are biblical people, but Cohen has spun on a story from the Old Testament. The original is therefore not a religious song, but there is another version with different lyrics that is religious.
They are all well established artists and they were all artists at the time of recording.
Hallelujah is about an orgasm, not gospel at all 😃
Except Aløejqndro Fuentes who partivipated in Idol (and came 3rd) when he was 16 and he was 17 here.
Personally I can't stand this version of the song. They just turned it into a cheap love song. Apart from Cohens original, the best version is probably Rufus Wainwright's.
