We've upgraded the carburetor and crankcase of our GT17 gas engine.
The new carburetor matches the engine better, with a more refined appearance and easier installation. The idle speed:1700rpm with 16*8 prop. The idle speed is reduced and stability are significantly improved, and the linear performance of the engine is fully reflected. The engines' weight is changed from 680g to 628g.

      Hey Garland, great!
Mine has run already 2L of fuel so its still in break in phase. Its a nice running motor but its friction bearing by the con-rod is notorious. Never make it to lean!!! Mine runs on 1:25 fuel/oil mixture.
Will see if it will last.
      Wish you good flights.

      Hey,
the thing is that this motor has such bad reputations in the www that i was curious to work with it.
I must say, i love it. I run it on 1:30mix and with a self made muffler.
With the right edjustment it runs great since almost 3 years now and i have no worries that it remains constant…

      Thanks so much for returning.
I have a brand new NGH17 still in the box but hesitated to install it in one of my electric 80” trainers.
All my gas engines are larger twins with good “reputation” Lol
      Regards

      Thank you!!🙏
Don‘t worry… its like i said, no reason for be a bad motor. Take your time for adjusting an please don‘t use the stock muffler. I did this on my test stand and this thing sounds horrible!! Even though the stock one will damage the motor by the time because of its one and only chamber which is way too small for the 17cc.
This concludes to emissions back washing into the cylinder while running…
That may be a reason why lots of the gt17 get broken…

@@modellflugdave9456 What are muffler options for those of us that cannot make our own ?

You use the Standard exhauast or the pitts?

    • @modellflugdave9456
      @modellflugdave9456  2 года назад +1

None of them. Its a self made muffler. The stock muffler is bad sounding and harms the motor by its running because of backblowing into the cylinder. The one and only chamber of the stock muffler ist way to small für the 17ccm…

yes i am, no issues till now with the gt-17.
A muffler could be the ngh pm-17 or similar pitts muffler for dle20 or others. The pm17 you can see in my video
