I have a question for you, Luk. How in the god damn hell do these videos keep getting better (While taking less time to be finished too)? Bloody hell man, i wanna make videos at least 10% as good as your videos, but seeing how much your videos improve still, I don't think that's possible. (Maybe procrastination isn't the best idea for productivity, but still, your skills are just unbelievable). Keep up the incredible work, man! Oh yeah and the game. Isometric 3D is a good choice IMHO. Though yes, the art style is a bit worse, but if it helps you make progress easier and quicker, it's a good sacrifice. Also, keep cooking 🔥
Thanks for your feedback! I think the biggest factor is the skill that comes over time. The more videos you make the better you'll be at making them. I also have a bad problem with procrastination and it takes time to learn how to beat it lol
Ooo!! This seems like a good idea and the video quality is better. JUST MAKE SURE you focus on the basics to make the game more easy to code for you in the future. I'm excited to see how this plays out.
Nice work! Isometric will be somewhat harder, especially the layering bit as you encountered, look at projects like 'Lumbermill'! Also I did notice in the Shoot(); function, you just spawn the bullet, I assume the bullet itself has a script with 'update' in it? It is more efficient to add the bullet to a List, then iterate through the list. For example, this way, if you need to find a bullet, you don't need to do Find.GameObjectWithTag. Also using the same iteration you could do box/circle/ellipse /linear function (linear for skew walls with the isometric system, you know (y==x*0.5&&x>5)) collision detection. If you implement collision yourself, it might save some overhead (collision checks with Physics2D and Tags). (Unless Unity's collision has 0-impact in the profiler).
yeah thats true. the movement is different now but i think this will make much more movement options and tactics possible in the future. i agree the game looks a bit worse now but i want to make a basic prototype first and we can always make it look better in the future :)
the project is fresh but the game will be going in the same direction as the old one :D

Thank you! As I said I'll make a playable prototype asap before adding more complex stuff

Thanks for the tips! Clean code is really important and I'm still lacking it lol
@@FlukyDev Oh, don't you worry. If look back at my first ever unity project I will bleach my eyes. Hahahaa
Looking forward to see where the project goes in this new direction.
