It's now 2024 and I have just been reaquainted with Melissa and her music...this is the FIRST time I have heard her so this song, just only heard Rod Stewart do it...OMG! Her stage presence is amazing as well as those facial expressions...INCREDIBLE! I am so glad I caught this!!
Rod Stewarts original version of this is legendary, but Melissas cover of this made me love the song even more. ❤🎶

Forgot to mention that I love John Shanks on the mandolin. I've always thought that when he is playing with Melissa that it improves her performance. As good as Rod Stewart's original recording is I prefer Melissa's rendition. She adds the gusto that the song needs. I've seen her cover many songs but this is my favorite cover.

Went to see LittleFeat up in Maine a long time ago and this girl we never heard of was opening for them”Melissa Etheridge”…She came out and BLEW EVERYONE AWAY…She won over the whole crowd with a smokin version of this song…I said to my buddy-“She’s gonna be a giant star!”…A month later you couldn’t turn on a radio without hearing Melissa…She made it big,And deserves every single bit of it.❤️

Hey, yes I’m aware of that website, but I never got my stuff from there. I also think it’s no longer maintained. I got some from friends, some I bought (e.g. there was this fan who had a little business in selling bootlegs and stuff) and I found most myself. If you got any tips, let me know🙂

The morning sun when it’s in your face really shows your age. 😳 made me dislike this song and I had teen skin at the time. Still thought what a mean line.
