Nothing worse than a fault on leaving day, glad you got it sorted. You reversed on to that pitch like a pro! Fully serviced pitches are great, we use them nearly all the time. Happy caravanning!

Hey guys on my side of the family we have owned caravans from the mid 1950,s We have also been Dog owners and caravans is ideal for children as well as woofas. Adventures of plenty. We decided to get a small motorhome for our retirement. Jane decided to give up driving due to her eyesight. I gave up caravans because of idiots on the road and my reaction time. Yes we're glad as well, electrics worked a couple of days before no idea why when fitter checked out earth everything was still tight, he re-did earth & fingers crossed that's sorted now, yes it is a bit of a squeeze in storage yard but is only 5 minutes from home so really handy, he also does vehicle repairs & caravan servicing so really handy, grandkids loved there couple of nights away 👍
Glad you got your electrics sorted out quickly, must have been disappointing for you. Have you considered a towing cover for your brand new Chatsworth? Not a problem on a short, dry summer run but could be very messy on a longer wet journey. Also helps with stone chips etc. All the best.
We started Caravanning in 2019 with great plans for 2020, which obviously didn’t happen. So this year has been like starting all over again. I’ve not been brave enough to reverse yet, hoping to find a big car park somewhere to practice.
I had not reversed a trailor for a long time, a bit like riding a bike once you have done it you never forget & practice make perfect, if you can't do it use the motor mover 👍

The tow bar was fitted to the car over 3 months ago all tested out OK, caravan build was delayed, we collected caravan from dealers 27th July all working OK, fetch home put on drive to sort out & load caravan, took to storage yard again all working, went to it on this occasion no power ? no idea why it did not work, tried lots of different things & the storage yard caravan service man checked out all caravan system which worked OK with his magic box so narrowed it down to the car. Phewwww we were worried it was going to be a window issue! 🤪. Storage yard could make life a little easier for it’s customers by not parking things in a way it makes manoeuvring tight!!! Love your van though - definitely have van envy 💕
Yes it can be a tight squeeze at times, he does cram them in, they also do servicing of caravans & Vehicles, the holdings are in the same village where we live so no travelling to check on caravan 😁👍
We had an issue where my car reversed into a wall a day before leaving for Wales 😎, luckily I could push the bumper back in and tape up the rear light cluster until our holiday was over . There is nothing more stressful than a major issue a day before going on holiday.

G Day, From Melbourne Aus, we do have a laugh at the terms used between Two nations. "Pitch" i thought poms referred that as to where you play soccer.... We call them Sites, in a caravan parks hahah. I have always wondered how the Brits go caravanning in such a small country, with such small trips, here we will travel 1000's of K's from home, and then back in a coupla weeks...enjoy ya travels - Love ya work. Hi Bob thanks for dropping by, yes over here we call them caravan sites or touring parks they use the term pitch as the area you set up your caravan on whether it's grass or hard standing, our road structure is certainly a lot smaller & narrower than in Australia 👍
Hello Andrew and karen,looking at the reversing looks like you might have been a truck driver because we can spot one a mile off ,do you miss the motorhome or too soon to say have a good time 🚛👍
No never been a truck driver, in my younger days over 45 years ago I used too help a local farmer with the hay making & drive tractor with trailers, I suppose its like riding a bike you never forget, Karen & I both think we made the right decission even though it was only our first trip away 👍

Hi hope you don’t mind me asking how narrow is delves lane leading to the campsite,? It’s one of my biggest fears meeting oncoming traffic down a narrow lane when I’m towing my caravan.
Not the best day to find a problem on a Sunday, but at least it all got resolved on a Monday morning so we could head off even though it was a day late 👍
I had an idea it was an earth fault during the titles, before you said it was. We had our towbar 'professionally fitted' because we needed to take our caravan out soon after getting our tow vehicle. He was not as good as your guy, the electrics failed and I found a poor 12v feed, wrong cable size on the feed and wrong cable sizes on the grounds with 4x 2.5mm cables going into 1x 1.5mm to a ground point, joined with scotch locks which no self respecting electrician would even use. Enjoy caravanning.
He came well recommended, by car dealership friend & our storage yard service garage, he does all the car electrics & towbars for them, he even fits tow bars for Towsure here in Sheffield, we had towbar fitted to our new car 3.5 month ago in readiness for our caravan collection date back in April which then got delayed by 3 months, all worked at caravan collection to home & down to storage yard, its one of those things, he always uses that point to earth the electrics on the Ford Kuga, all fittings were still tight, he can't explain why it did not earth but at least it got sorted quickly the next day sorted 👍

Not what we were expecting on our first trip, it all worked a couple of days previously when we took caravan down to storage yard, just one of those things at least it's OK now, the camera is the Nextbase rear view camera, just trying out different angles for future videos, works quite well, thanks for watching
That happened to us we have same car and caravan , it happened down Cornwall we was on Perranporth sands we’d had new tow bar fitted everything worked fine until day we was moving to Paignton and had no lights , so we phoned Ford up cos it was a brand new car and we took it to a Ford garage there they couldent find anything wrong apart from a bit of paint where earth was so they cleaned it off ( never charged us ) then got back to caravan hey presto worked phew!!
That's weird on same car & caravan, Danial had never had this fault before & always used the same earthing point on all the Ford Kugas he has fitted tow bars to

Hi Alex, with the car being still in warrenty I had dedicated wiring done to tow bar, they have a magic box with different codes to programme the car which override some safety devices when hitched up, I.E reverse sensors, BLIS system & even tells you a trailer is attached & if put in reverse shows you you have a trailer attached, 🤔, not sure why you only have to look into rear view mirrors to see your towing a big white box 🤣😂🤣😂
Yes he crams them in, but it's so handy as it's just down the road, saves a lot of travelling to get to caravan, he does vehicle repairs & authorised caravan service engineer so it's a really handy spot to keep caravan, he even offered to tow our caravan to the site if tow bar fitter couldn't make it so we did not let granddaughters down 👍😁

Dan sorted out an electrical fault in our towing electrics, in which both caravan dealer and car dealer couldn’t find, top bloke .

Towbar should have been fully tested when fitting, hope it didn't spoil things too much for the Grandkids. Lovely van.

Hi Alex, with the car being still in warrenty I had dedicated wiring done to tow bar, they have a magic box with different codes to programme the car which override some safety devices when hitched up, I.E reverse sensors, BLIS system & even tells you a trailer is attached & if put in reverse shows you you have a trailer attached, 🤔, not sure why you only have to look into rear view mirrors to see your towing a big white box 🤣😂🤣😂

Yes he crams them in, but it's so handy as it's just down the road, saves a lot of travelling to get to caravan, he does vehicle repairs & authorised caravan service engineer so it's a really handy spot to keep caravan, he even offered to tow our caravan to the site if tow bar fitter couldn't make it so we did not let granddaughters down 👍😁

Should have called breakdown service
Not really a car breakdown so wasn't sure it was covered, we had arranged to get it sorted the next morning for free 👍
