Interesting point. Pederson wanted to try that play the week before against Minnesota when the Eagles were crushing them in the NFC Championship Game. Foles told him "no" and that they may need it at a later time. You didn't need to run a trick play with a huge lead against Minnesota, so they saved it for the Patriots.

Patriots #70 was the only player who recognized the play before the pass was made. #53 was the only player in the assignment who could have broken up the play. Instead he runs into #70 trying to attack the run and is out of position to defend the pass. I think 31 fanbases smiled watching this touchdown. Enjoy this memory forever Eagles fans, this is football history.

:26 - You can't hear it on this video, but NFL Films picked up the audio and at that time, Foles said to Pederson, "Do you want Philly Philly?", meaning do you want to run the Philly Special. That play was not even on Pederson's playlist that day as he tried to run it against Minnesota the week before, but Foles turned him down saying it was not needed with the big lead the Eagles had. Why it wasn't on Pederson's playlist that day is unknown but Foles basically got Pederson to put in the play and it completely fooled the Patriots. Foles was named MVP for his play and decision making that day.
