    How to determine the intensities of the peak sir? How do we say this particular peak is the base peak with respect to relative abundance??

      In mass spectrometry, ion which is reaching to the detector in highest % (not necessarily 100% but some other % say like 85% ) then instrument will call it as base peak and will adjust it's % as 100%, we don't require to calculate it's intensity.

    35:56 Is there lacking one carbon atom? The system changed from 6 member ring system into 5 member ring system.

      No, all 6 carbons are there plz watch carefully, during alpha cleavage one bond of 6 membered ring breaks.

      Yes u right it is lacking there must be 6 carbon... If there will be 6 Carbon only then propyl radical will eliminate to form acrolein..if 5th membered then ethyl radical will eliminate. To form acrolein.

    Means in second example there must be a peak of 70...due to dehydration of alcohol..isn't it??

    11: 17 sir it is written in pavia that 1 4 elimination usually lead to formation of cyclic compound but you have drawn straight chain??? Kindly clear my misunderstanding

    Sir may I ask, how to do the mechanism of ch2ch2ch2 that have two radical after the removal of h2o and c2h4 so it gets [ch2=chch3]+. at 16:34 because when I tried to do the mechanism I tend to get the structure without the + and radical.

    Sir if only base peak is given how to determine the structure of molecule in given question

      Based on analysis of base peak only it is difficult to analyse complete structure, you can identify fragment corresponding to base peak only, plz note that single spectroscopy is not enough to decide the structure of the molecule. For complete characterization of the molecule one should analyse mass, IR, Carbon NMR and H NMR atleast.
