It starts off cheerful and innocent, then the depression catches you off guard and bitch slaps you to oblivion leaving you wondering what the fuck just happened

Holy crap you turned this song from Monika's bittersweet goodbye to her love, to a Disney villain opera, a dive into her insanity and pain.
Basically you turned this song into Monika's version of Hellfire and I _love_ it.
IMO this is an inversion of Hellfire. They're both about doing terrible thing to get what they wanted, but Monika fully owned it. She acknowledged her actions are her own and embraced her villainy. Frollo, on the other hand, blamed everyone - even God, for his sins.
@@khazit66 That's a good analysis, though I'd say this is less owning it and more Monika venting her frustration at being trapped in a lesser reality and blaming her circumstances. The original song is about her accepting those circumstances and that she needs to let her obsession go, while this cover is her doubling down.

If Monika and some of the hidden text files are to be believed, Monika was actually the hero of another game at one point...she was banished with her 'friends' onto DDLC. The creators of DDLC I believe are making another game that stars a Monika-esque character as the protagonist.

that's probably just me but gosh diddly darn, I've gotta draw this outttt
So think of it. The movie starts with a view of Monika in the club room looking out the window. A small smile on her face as the camera fades but glitches to a bus stop. Here we have our protagonist. The Everyman in this. He would be the audience connection to these characters. In comes sayori who Again is running late. Protag makes a comment about it for a little world building (no need for narration) most dialogue goes about as it normally does maybe we have him a bit snarky and mean. On the bus the camera shows of Yuri sitting by the fountain reading the cultist book fondly. Pan zoom to Natsuki at a lunch bench reading some manga. In the background is a light rendition of the theme. After a quick classroom scene we have clubs where sayori drags protag with her. Again dialogue is fairly the same. Maybe a bit snarky. As a passing comment protag says “looks like I sold my soul for a cupcake” everyone laughs but Monika who only smiles. After that we get the usual bonding with the other girls. Plays out how the game goes except when we discover sayori dead the screen glitches. The title card plays. A slightly distorted theme plays as we see the protag look up from his phone to scold... no one. Weird. He could have sworn someone was coming to meet him. Again plays out except there’s occasionally blanks where sayori’s name clearly was there. And if anyone wants to pick this movie script up do so cause I’m getting tired of writing

But when you listen to this version,
IT IS EVEN BETTER!!
Holy Shit. Like Holy Shit this is good. I usually think that when people say "blah remix is the best" is a overrated and untrue statement as they don't keep the feel of the song usually. But this, with just a shift down to the minor and not much else, turns the entire song's tone onto its head and perfectly encapsulates Monika's whole arc.
That first piano solo really shows how dubious players actually are in the beginning of the game, how it looks all innocent and cutesy but still hints at the ominous and monstrous true face. The first lyrical verse also hints at this fact, although it is still quite obvious how obsessive and yandere she actually is, even though this can just be seen as heavy romantic feeling. "Infinite choices" also hints at this facade that saying she is possible to choose, but really isn't. Something a player wouldn't know going in.
Second verse is similarly terrifying with the yandere traits but puts a lot of the emphasis on the fact that she now knows what is going and her determination to change her fate, which shows in the game when she intervenes so much. Those last lines especially are haunting, since it shows how much control she now has over the game, and the voice that you give just amps it up to 11 in bone-chilling evil.
The solo in the bridge perfect encapsulates Monika's fall from grace, as it sounds simultaneously chaotic and falling, I love it. Same goes for the similar section in the middle of third verse but I'll get into that.
That last verse, my god. Literally my favorite part. I can tell that Monika is utterly distraught from the player's rejection, even though she literally gave him everything. The Player just throws her aside, leaving her behind. You can hear the fighting inside her between her unending love and her last remaining will and a spark of ironic humanity. That instrumentation in the middle solidifies the decision, although we can't tell what it is. And we can hear the buildup to the climax, of Sayori almost taking over, and Monika finally letting her single shred of humanity take over by deleting herself and the rest of the girls in her last act, which I think is the most dedicated part of her love. You can hear the distortion try and take over one last time, but she fights and lets you go.
I'm just utterly astounded by this song, and utterly astounded by what you have achieve here. Fucking great shit.

This sounds like how it would work out in the middle of Act 2, as opposed to being at the end of Act 3 like how the original is. It's like Monika hasn't learnt her lesson yet and hasn't realized that what she's doing is awful, as she sees nothing wrong with what she's doing.

Like, they could've made an ending in the game where nothing went wrong and you could just choose whoever's path you _really_ wanted and used the original your reality for that. But then used this for the "just monika" route (or just the original ending)

Because they are Artificial Intelligence.
Monika "killed" them because they aren't real and they aren't sentient; they are just 2D characters bound to text permanently saying the exact same things they did a few days ago.
If you were stuck in some sort of containment, would you destroy 3 non-sentient, non-learning androids who do the exact same thing they did last week to be able to see your loved one?
Monika never even directly "killed" the other girls. She just tampered with Yuri and Sayori's script and simply deleted Natsuki.

I listen to your music when I am drawing sometimes (and I have two computer monitors), but when I was listening to this, I wasn't paying attention to the video on the monitor on the right of me. I look occasionally, and I see Monika just increasingly getting closer, discomforting me in the process. Then, 2:46 happened, and I look to my right again. I can't tell whether to laugh, scream, or just sit there in bewilderment. But, nonetheless, I greatly enjoy this cover of "Your Reality".

At first, I was hesitant to listen to it because of the opening notes heavily reminding me of This Is Halloween, a style that contrasted what I'm used to from Your Reality. However, as I continued to listen, I felt as if this version belongs to a Monika who is singing for an older styled night club, one in which she is the lead singer of the theater type showroom.

I'm sure this has been mentioned copious times already, but this cover absolutely blew me away. The instrumental is amazing (nice job Chris) and the tone fit the theme so well. The original sounded mediocre to me, but this version is something I can listen to an repeat without tiring.
