The 4-5 minutes around 30:00 is some of the best stuff I've ever seen in a poker vlog, bar none. Those of you that are jumping to the hands, that are playing it at 2x, whatever - you're missing truly compelling human drama. And no, not the guy popping off at In-and-Out. Thank, Mariano, for the transparency and willingness to bare your soul there. And also, huge props to Meghan for the phone support.

Best Vlog you’ve ever done! It felt like a behind the scene documentary of what a poker player goes through. Making that tough call to your significant other and having her support is invaluable. People don’t realize how crappy you feel after a huge loss. The interaction with your buddy added another dimension to the Vlog. Keep grinding and look forward to more of these types of Vlogs! I have to say this has to probably be the best poker vlog I've seen. The depth of emotion expressed in this video was amazing, and it truly shows the "real" moments of your life. Looking forward to similar content in the future Mariano! Props to Joey he did a great job

I liked the style. Garret was really serious in his advice. He knows most players don't "make it". He could have went all "believe in youself", or "study the game", etc. But gave a "retreat strategy" kind of advice. Props to him....and to you for getting his number lol (nice of you to include that part).
That part of the video is the part 99% of aspiring poker pros need to see.
much like trading the stock market - 95% don't make it - that's one very tough gig..
That's what makes Garrett the best. Age wise Mariano is on his way.
@@CptUnderDog I played poker as my sole source of income for about 6 months and it really killed the fun of the game for me. Just knowing that I had to be there to put hours in at the casino changes the dynamic. I decided after that to just play as a hobby and I’ve been enjoying it much more. Even though I make twice as much per hour at the table than I do my regular job lol.

As a fan, i always wondered about before and after the games you played. Casual talks about your game with Joey and your gf in the car, brief shots in the restaurants, and an interview with Gman. Bravo! Loved this new take and long one too. Keep up the good work Joey and hope you win all your upcoming Big sessions especially during streams, Mariano.

It must be such a thrill to have your face on a casino marquis with one of your idols like GMAN ș be in a game at the stakes that you are playing for. Something you probably didn't & couldn't imagine when you started your poker journey. That Q/Q hand against 2 A/K offs was brutal. You are so very blessed to have a girlfriend that you can share the highs & especially the lows with. So impressed and happy for you that when you were sharing what happened Megan's response WAS NOT - How much did you lose? How big was the pot? She FIRST asked you - How is your MENTAL State? - Just proving she cares more about you, your journey, your endeavors more than the finance/💵 💵 💵 of it. That's just awesome dude!
this style was phenomenal; feels much more intimate and personable. loved the BTS. you're an inspiration dude, you've paved a clear, documented path for players like me who want to play at stakes that feel larger than life. congratulations on everything you've achieved thus far, for sure my favorite vlogger/player out there. keep going man.
Love everything about the vlog.
From the good smaller session in the start, to the session you lost the flip and showing all aspects of being down bad (the restaurant running out of food to serve was the stench on the shit), and your genuine happy micro-interactions (you being stoked about getting Garrett's number and the subtly jovial small talk at the cash out counter), the vlog had insane production value and it was made so well, it's almost like watching a movie.
Happy for you Mariano, there's something about your vlogs that I can't seem to put into words, but your genuine self, creativity in vlog editing and poker skill is a combination that's really special that always makes me click your videos.

A Mariano vlog is always an excuse to stop what I'm doing, settle down, and enjoy. I don't get many 45 minute breaks in my day, so thank you!
It's an interesting perspective with Joey the cameraman. I'm sure it makes your life easier, but somehow it transforms the vibe. When it was just you out in some Inland Empire desert road, it felt a little more intimate- just you, me, and 100k of your closest friends. The presence of a cameraman (no disrespect to Joey at all) makes it feel like every documentary film I've ever watched. Which is fine, but different. Like I kinda miss the kid looking into the camera and saying "I really have no idea what I'm doing here..."
But content and art evolve, and I'm grateful to be on the journey. Even if I miss your hand closing over the camera lens to end a scene.
100% disagree, although I respect your opinion. Having the opportunity to participate in the situation with a more relaxed and engaged subject that isn't having to multi-task makes the situation seem more authentic and natural. I'd prefer more in this format.
@@brycecalhoun I might have changed my mind after the soliloquy in the car at 30:00. That was so intimate and introspective, and might not have happened without the foil of the cameraman.
Don’t need a 45 minute break. Watch the video at 2X speed and you’ll only need 22 mins. Plus, anyone who doesn’t watch poker videos at 2X speed is really wasting their time

I get you, but what I found eerie was that he hardly ever looked at the camera lens, rather, at himself in the inverted screen.
This is by far the best video I have seen from any vlogger- really gives it the "short film" vibe. Very much looking forward to the next one!

Great, candid, and raw footage. These types of videos are good and important to show as it shows the reality versus glossy, closer-to-perfect footage.

I think this might be my favorite poker vlog ever. The behind the scenes stuff really helps break up what can be kinda dry material even for us who love the game. Endless hand reviews do get a little monotonous and the thought of you sending GMan nudes made me cry laughing

It’s kinda funny to see how things changed. A few months back, Ethan and you were talking about priorities, and for Ethan, number 1 was RUclips and for you not at all. And now you are raising the level and effort on the RUclips game while Ethan is focusing in the competitive side of poker.
This IMO says a lot. You both are willing to change direction to what makes you happy at the moment.

I was thinking that the cameraman was not necessary until I saw the return from the losing session in the car, the phone call, and the thoughts in front of the burgers. Great from us bc it shows how the game is challenging even if we keep smiling !
