Why doesn’t it offer a resumption save system? That’s pretty unacceptable, really. No doubt it’ll be incoming in a future patch, but re-introducing an issue of the NES era kinda saps the new-gen feel of this otherwise excellent looking game
Google what a Roguelike is, you will then understand.
@@martynasdzin6389 you've never played Hades? Gungeon?
@@martynasdzin6389 No need for such condescension; I’ve played both rogue likes and lites, and most don’t take 6 hours to complete a run. Hades and Dead Cells offer resume saves, so why doesn’t Returnal?
@@martynasdzin6389 Also, Returnal is a rogue lite - maybe you need to do some googling
What do you think they would classify as a 9 or or 10 these days?
Goat simulator 2
IGN are hit or miss, I'm not too impressed with the look of this game but word of mouth goes a long way, I'd check Reddit once this game drops or watch Hakoom's review
The joke of us part 2
BF6
Depends on the reviewer. No gaming outlet is, our should be regarded as, a monolith.
This game, like every Housemarque game, is a masterpiece. It is such an identifiable frustratingly genius idea. Also worth noting, they patched in a "suspend" function that let's you save your current run if you have to leave.
Just got the new ps plus and this was my first game to download. Was about to cancel the download based solely on this so I’m so glad you mentioned the suspend feature.
Truly a masterpiece
Praises, praises, praises, praises, lasts way too long, praises - 8/10
When you grow up you focus more on the actual words than the numbers. Hope you will get there one day.
9.5 Game Informer and 9 from GameSpot, the game is great as expected, Housemarque thank you for making another amazing game.
TLOU2 was 10.0 everywhere
Ore wa Natsuki Subaru Shini modore Return By Death PermaDeath Difficulty Re Zero the anime is finally a video game called Returnal and i'm playing as Selene this is awesome
One of the best games ive played in a while. Highly recommend!!
But is worth £70/ $70? If this had been released a year ago it would have been £50/ $50. I'll wait for a sale and keep my money for RE8 (which is £50) next week.
Playstation 5 games probs is allways going to be expensive. When you have right TV & your Pezza 5 with this game. Soon forget about that 70 quid just spent. This game does look awesome. Something if you own a Playstation 5 to deffo show your m8's 😉👍😁
@@thedesolateone8260it's about ethics. Sony have put their games up because they know they have a captive and loyal customer/fan base who will support, defend and justify the price rise even when it comes down to it it's just about Sony making more money. Sony knows in the end they can get away with it.
@@wssayer Maybe they should start making games that people don't actually want. Like Microsoft.
10/10, best bullet hell roguelite fps game of all time
This generation is all about 4K+ gaming and videos/reviews are still not uploaded in actual UHD?
Let's Go! The ps5's first sleeper hit!
@Turd Ferguson hahaha your name is appropriate
@Turd Ferguson < Salty Xbot has buyers remorse.
@Turd Ferguson 86 at metacritic moron.
@Turd Ferguson Someone wishes they had a ps5...
thats it im swithcing to ps5 dumping my xbox one
@Kermit Peanut ya ur right
This feels like TOHO style.
Yeah, it's like a 1st person Bullet Hell game.
I’ve being playing games for 25 years . This is my fav game of all time ! Absolute master piece . But it’s not for everyone
Agree...shifted my perspective on what gaming can be...
That's what Demon's Souls did for me back in 2009, hopefully this does that again although the roguelike concept is of course decades old.
That honestly sounded like a 9.
Go see all the RUclips channel reviews they had gave it a 9 only IGN has given an 8
its 87 on metacritic and higher than cyberpunk.
Wish he mentioned how it was $70. Game looks great but I'll be waiting for a sale
Get it anyway dude
PS5 owner here. The game looks like something that would be “meh” had it gone multi-platform. Exclusives get a bump.
finally all the reviews
This is a game that really needed Xbox's quick resume.
Not really. Each run takes less then an hour and the game is able to resume if you put the PS5 into sleep mode. This is a nothing burger.
For anyone seeing this, can you tell me how long a RUN is?
If you check every room probably takes 2-3 hours per run, if you zoom past the biomes it’s probably less but wouldn’t recommend doing that.
Housemarque always delivers.
Idk why people in the comments cant understand that he means you can't save during a "run" or mission. No developer is going to expect you to play over 18 hours straight to complete their game
Super long runs with no saving seems like a crappy oversight they should fix in a patch
The lack of a save feature is to prevent people from save scumming (reloading a save over and over) which would make the game less of a challenge and basically undermine the risk/reward mechanics the game offers. It would also greatly shorten the game.
Then implement a save feature that doesn’t allow that. I’d rather have a better game than one that is impossible to cheat
Even with procedural generated levels, a slight change of scenery won't stop this game from getting repetitive fast with the lack of a save option.
You do know what a Rogue lite is right?
this game wasn’t even on my radar but will be looking to catch it on sale
IGN like a week ago. "Sony takes no risks and focuses on nothing but AAA games while showing no love to smaller, risk taking studios"
IGN now: very positive returnal review.
👁👄👁
A game like this would really benefit from the Series X|S quick resume feature so you can take a break between runs.
Thats not how the game is suppose to play. Your basically saying you just want to play it on emulator with save states because your too unskilled to beat the game.
Finally got a ps5 and been playing a bunch of the games I've been missing out on. Returnal is easily one of my favorite current gen games
I've recently purchased a Ps5 and I've been having a blast with this game. It can be frustrating at times, but it also can be rewarding.
