Could anybody explain why he had to open his mouth when detonating the explosives in the tunnel at 5:00?
Cause it could deafening him and opening his mouth prevents that I think
Since they're in an enclosed space (the tunnel) when the explosion goes off, a pressure wave is created. This sudden increase in air pressure due to the displacement caused by the explosion propogates a higher level of pressure throughout the tunnel. This can cause your eyedrums to rupture or become damaged because it's a closed system, opening your mouth opens the system which allows the higher pressure to propogate through your nasal system (since your mouth, ears and throat are all connected), without doing damage. Think of having an empty water bottle with the cap on, then dropping a large weight on it, the sudden increase in internal pressure can blow the cap off, whereas opening the cap allows the air to flow out with little issue.
