They destroy forest and make tea and coffe estates, to open resort they clear forest , they convert forest to agricultural land, this should stop.also should encourage to plant forest trees in agricultural land next to forest, the day we loose western ghats, we loose north-east monsoon, india is finished economically, inspite of knowing all these things forest area is reducing year after year, should protect at any cost.

No other country and I mean not a single country possess such diversity as India in every aspect. So plz guys we are the future generation, what good or bad our past generation did or the current generation is doing let it have their way. Let us gather and take a vow to make our motherland better from ours. Its easy if we stay together rather than fighting each other for foolish things in life. If we having such powers say its hard or impossible who else gonna make it possible then.

This is a magnificent region. I've done some birding in Tamil Nadu in the past and I'd love to spend a few birding and wildlifing the length of the Western Ghats. Suggest ATREE look into running an international "Bird Fair" or "Wildlife Fair" in the locality to attract tourism and help boost the skills of and number of local nature guides. This would make jobs for guides, drivers, people in accommodation and associated services and further strengthen livelihoods and value in conserving this important region.
