Beautiful ! Is this F650GS a single or twin cylinder ? Can you compare to G650GS ? I just bought a low miles 2008 V-Strom 650, but love German engineering. (Drive 2 vintage Mercedes) Thank you !

@@psalm2forliberty577 actually you had the right idea because the successor to 'my' F650GS was indeed a 800cc parallel twin that they first called... F650GS haha (BMW wanted to ride tbe successful wave of the original model, and didn't want to scare new riders with a big displacement number). Later on they ended up switching to the current name system (F800/850cc etc.)

Hey, I live in Tahiti, French Polynesia. It is indeed an adventure, even though there aren't THAT many trails to ride (it's a relatively small island). More than the conditions, my tyres were not very well suited for that steep downhill (and wet haha) section, should have been more careful 😉

Merci, c'est très sympa. Perso j'ai acheté cette GS car je cherchais quelque chose de fiable, et qui sait un peu tout faire. Au final, c'est exactement ce qu'elle est, et elle me convient parfaitement. Je m'en sers tous les jours pour aller bosser, de temps en temps pour aller se ballader à 2, et parfois en offroad. C'est assez lourd mais le poids se gère très bien je trouve sur la terre, et comme la selle est basse il est facile de mettre les pieds au sol en cas de pépin. Je n'ai jamais tapé le skid plate sur quoi que ce soit, mais en même temps je ne fais pas de trial ou d'autres choses très extrêmes avec haha.
ABS off is kind of mandatory when offroading IMO, but too much front brake is definitely a no-no, especially when the conditions are wet. Lesson learned 😅.

Ça dépend aussi de ton expérience en offroad. Pour info je suis chaussé Anakee III, à mon avis tes TKC accrochent plus que les miens sur terre.
I respect your opinion, of course, but on that particular day, the song perfectly reflects the therapeutic, calming effect that this ride provided me with, hence that choice. Ride safe ;)

Parts are very difficult to find here in Tahiti, but I'll definitely think about it. :)

It's a 2001 single cylinder, 50hp awesome little bike, I love it. The only differences with the G650GS are visual, they are very similar. 🙂

The Accident was, cause you ABS was off and you're using the Frontbrake? 😉
