For me the most amazing thing here is the way Tico sings in perfect time with the accompaniment. Parrots can do astonishing imitations of the human voice - see the various interpretations of the Queen of the Night aria from „The Magic Flute“ by Mozart - but counting is not their long suit, which means that they will depart from the rhythm and time signature of the piece at certain points. This irregularity is often very charming, nonetheless it is refreshing to hear this wonderful mix of improvisational freedom and rhythmic discipline. This is an artistic jewel, on a higher aesthetic plane than any other solo performance by a parrot that I have ever heard.
Tico’s concentration & commitment in this song is exceptional. In the first version he said "Oh Good God" after "Pretty Babe" but not in the second version. A true artist.
