This is the kind of news I have been waiting to hear for the whole of my life.
Kudos to North eastern brothers. You can as well feed yourself, you don't have to depend on food aid from NGOs and charity organisations.

Works in Wajir North. If Dam is build there...I can tell you the place can feed the whole Kenya. it Soo fertile, no fertilizer is used, the land is vargin. And the only advantage is junk of land with alot of manure from livestock.

I have always wanted to farm in the arid areas. Is it possible to buy 100 acres of land in Wajir area. Now, Wajir people can do away with the Zebu type of cows and go for improved breeds that can produce more milk. Don't do the bousers, go for boreholes and dams.

County govts have failed the people. They seem to have no idea of coming up with solutions to alleviate their people away from just cattle keeping. Also, these people need to be taught smart agri whereby you grow crops that dont utilize much water, no tilling and cover crops to prevent water from evaporating and keeping the soil moist. They can even start keeping cattle in paddocks.

People in Mbeere where these dams are located do not have water. The land remains unproductive due to scarcity of reasoning from local leadership national government.
